Getting a motivated and particularly reliable team is the biggest hurdle (still have to work to maintain the motivation and forward momentum, but it has to be there to begin with). I prefer working alone on many things for that very reason, because people have their own agendas and paces and they do...

I rented Shoot 'Em Up when it came out on the 1st and did something I've done with only a few movies, watching it again the next day. It's a blast of pure action with little side references to Clive Owen's stint as "The Driver" in the BMW films and a certain memorable and barely believable scene tow...

Hopefully the KOTOR 2 Sith Lords Restoration Project will also finish. They've been plugging away methodically on it but it's a pretty ambitious and sizable amount of work. (http://www.team-gizka.org/). I've also been following the Max Payne short film that's gotten stalled due to funding issues unf...

I was laughing out loud at some of the "finale" words to those escapades. Great writing!

Below is a great cartoon that shows how Bush managed at last to "discover" that North Korea will go along with nuke sanctions if you give them fuel and food - just like Clinton did. Of course, there were all the nudnicks who spouted (without any support that the "theories" would actually pan out) th...

Comedian Bill Hicks on air travel: "Now get this, I've been travelling all over the country on British Air. No smoking on British Air. Now let me get this straight, no smoking, right, but they allow children. Little fairness, huh? "Well smoking bothers me." Well guess what? I was on this one flight ...

I've always enjoyed travelling, but aside from much camping done in my teens (about half a year total, and to the point that for several years I actually slept on the floor because I found it more comfortable than a bed) I haven't done as much travelling as I would like. I took a trip to Boston over...

My thoughts on Bush: He's a blivet (i.e., 10 pounds of shit in a 5-pound sack). It's embarrassing to understand that a certain hardcore minority still hold him up to be something more than he is (which, as I said, is a blivet), but then again, just a couple years ago many ostensibly intelligent and ...

I agree on the integrity / reliability issue. I place that higher than just about anything. I was very fortunate the last several years in being able to work with people in a team where we seamlessly interacted and didn't need to look over one another's shoulders to know something will be done. A ra...

Weirdly, I get a neck-ache if I use more than one pillow, and the flatter my single pillow the better. Then again, I used to camp out at least once a month for years and for a number of years in my late teens I used to sleep on the floor because I found it more comfortable than a bed. I slept on the...

Usually I pick crawling on my stomach. It's a bit tougher to tunnel under stuff (because the back has to arch backwards) but it seems less claustrophobic.

Congrats on the shower curtains. In with the new, out with the old and moldy.

My next job is to crawl back under my house and rescreen the underside vents so the damn rats quit getting underneath and climbing up into my walls and gnawing. One of them is doing it about 3 feet from my head when I'm in bed and I finally banged on the wall last night to get him to stop - for awhi...

On a related note, we're about 4 weeks into remodelling our bathroom (my brother does remodelling, so he's doing the work except for the tile and sheetrock guys). The house is 75 years old. The bathroom floor had been built up over the years as people lazily laid new tile over the old without taking...

Kirk's own "sacrifice" scene in Star Trek Generations just didn't measure up.

However...Shatner has somewhat redeemed himself with this great spoof of the movie Se7en.

Please enjoy Sha7ner: http://download.ifilm.com/qt/portal/2672895_300.mov

Josan - 3-piece speakers are sadly getting harder to find (at least the really good ones) as many manufacturers have gotten into the 5.1 and up ones. Yet all is not lost. On NewEgg (where you can also sort by Rating and thus see what a lot of people agree upon) they have (http://www.newegg.com/Produ...
