While I find it very noble of those of you who are saving the earth from toxic emissions by not driving a vehicle, I fail to understand how you can stand to be without the freedom of picking up and going wherever, whenever you need/want to. Public transportation sucks. I'd post a pi...

"The difference is that when this one went missing, we knew who it was - the person who had dismantled it,"

now that's a statement.

... and as the internet continues to warp the minds of our children it also passes on a tradition of abbreviated words such as BTW, B4, L8, which shouldn't make sense in the English language, or any other for that matter.

I also can't stand the misuse of the words effect and affect.

According to this synopsis it certainly sounds like a prequel... "Young Bruce Wayne witnesses the murder of his parents and is left alone to mourn his loss. He promises that he will rid the city of the evil that took their lives. He would train and strike fear into the hearts of the seedy underworld...

What's this with sequels and now PREQUELS.... Is Hollywood that desperate? It seems to me that the prequel is a new device to avoid any original thought, just like the sequel.

I've recently read that Batman Begins is expected to come out sometime this year.

Is this all really necessary?

My junkfood would be one of the local Indian restaurants. They make some fast, hot gravy, that they pass off Chicken something with rice and Naan during lunch breaks I think you may have confused this thread with the "My Favourite Authentic Cuisine From Around the World" thread down the hall. Junk ...

I am a big fan of Atom Egoyan, period. He's a brilliant director and has been a great supporter of the arts in Canada. Ararat likely meant a lot to him - I see it as a reflection his life in many ways, from what I know of it anyhow. It is an excellent movie, just not in the mainstream Hollywood sort...

I don't think I have any modern heros, except for those few people in my life that have had a profound positive impact on my life. I cut myself off from most modern media and am content with the Great's of the past: Bach, Brahms and Beethoven.

Another of our favorites is ice-cream and peanut butter sauce. You add corn syrup to chunky pb and heat it up till it's all bubbly. Then you pour it on ice-cream. It's decadent!
