Re: Random events of the day
A stark reminder of how old I am... started back in a gym just before Easter and went there again yesterday (trying to do it a couple of hours every Tuesday and Thursday). It was 6 months since my last visit to a gym, shortly before moving from Brisbane, so my body is trying to cope with the punishm...

Re: Random news Roundup
Fun times in Ukraine!.... good thing too, they haven't had much to laugh at the last 5 years, since the oligarch and his neo-nazi henchmen took over government.

Re: Random events of the day
It looks like someone somewhere isn't about to let religion die out peacefully, but rather go out with a bang (literally), some mentally deranged people decided to blow up a bunch of churches in Sri Lanka. Why do I have a feeling this was some disgruntled, disenfranchised group of men who thought it...

Re: I need gaming suggestions...
If you still need something to play, I can recommend Borderlands 2. The game is a blast (often quite literally). Even better if you get the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragons Keep DLC It's a game within the game, where you step out of the "familiar" surroundings and end up playing a game of Dungeons and...

Re: Guild Wars 2 (Warning: Image heavy)
Arenanet (the developer) hates people with vertigo... this jumping puzzle took me 3 days of real time to through, climbing up to the ship stranded on top of the cliff. Luckily there were a couple of checkpoints on the way where you can log out without losing your progress. A bonus achievement too if...

Re: Guild Wars 2 (Warning: Image heavy)
The game uses instance areas and unlocks to create a sense of time progression in the world. This place is called "Sirens Landing" and takes place after you've killed Zhaitan (the undead Elder Dragon). Pact forces and Sylvari in particular are trying to return parts of Orr to the world of the living...

Size comparison between humans (my thief) and Norns (the "giant" NPC lady and her pet wolf)
Charr (the giant felines) are even bigger than Norn

Re: Random events of the day
Looks like Esmeralda and the Hunchback have joined the ranks of the homeless. The old cathedral (Notre Dame) went up in flames. No reports of human casualties, but still a sad moment when something built in 1260 comes crashing down.

Re: The latest movie/tv show you've seen
I loved the first two Star Wars movies, the original "Star Wars" (A new hope) and "The Empire Strikes Back". They lost me at "Return of the Jedi" which was a cluster fudge (in my humble opinion).
I guess Indiana Jones sort of helped too turning me into a Lucas fanboy in the early 80's

Re: Guild Wars 2 (Warning: Image heavy)
After defeating Zhaitan, I followed a Russian friends advice (she was the one who persuaded me to try the game in the first place) to not start on the natural story progression after that, but to make a detour to the desert expansion and complete the first chapter there. It was all about getting the...

Re: Guild Wars 2 (Warning: Image heavy)
How about a game of table tennis? A Charr (the giant feline) and a Norn (the giant human lookalike) playing a round of table tennis during the victory celebrations. The location is a place called 'Fort Trinity', which the pact uses as it's base of operations against Zhaitan and his undead hordes in ...
