Re: Random rant of the day

I actually think it's Ok if the training is for the sole purpose of filling a very niche gap for a particular industry. Just like I think it's perfectly Ok for pilots to either self fund or find sponsors (like the airlines) to pay for a pilot training and a certificate. If they need tour guides badl...

Re: Random rant of the day

Well, there are still a few "old timers" around. Besides Fionavar (and Majestic/MERLANCE), you might remember Gromnir, Gfted1, Amentep, Volourn and a few others who might have changed names since the old Interplay/Black Isle board

Visceris and Tarna are both dead :(

Re: Random rant of the day

You have no idea.... even with Fionavar doing manual activation, we still have dozens that slip through every week. Luckily we have a system where new accounts need 5 approved posts before they get out of "moderated status" (their posts are only visible to moderators, so most people never know/see t...

Re: Random events of the day

 Well, it sort of matters I guess, because US troops are lined up at the Venezuelan border. Ostensibly to provide aid convoys to the poor starving population. Could create all kind of interesting situations of Russian and US troops clash physically in Venezuela. Edit: Ok, I'll see if I can find...

Re: The latest movie/tv show you've seen

I really need to buy Games of Thrones some day. Heard a lot about it, but never seen it. As for latest "movies".... well, a Taiwanese friend of mine convinced me to join him for a couple of movies here in Melbourne and he's a Marvel/DC fan, so besides learning a lot about things that were completely...

Re: Random events of the day

As for how Epic funds their exclusivity deals... I always find it suspicious when a Chinese company ("Tencent") owns 40% of something. Buying a foothold in the Western gaming market would be my guess.

Re: Random events of the day

Yeah, that was a shitty move. Before pointing the gun though, Private Division is the publisher, Obsidian has no say in where it gets sold (I'm fairly sure that they themselves were convinced it would be a Steam/GOG thing, heck the trailer might even have mentioned Steam iirc). With Microsoft being ...

Re: Random events of the day

Hehehe... is he still into the piggy thing? I remember that was sort of his "trademark" at least back when he was active here. Other people might not care, but I'll have to say, Obsidian takes good care of it's forum volunteers. Free games, signed boxes, collectors edition boxes, hoodie jumper with ...

Re: Random events of the day

PS: My favourite Zombie Shooter is a co-op game called "Killing Floor 2". I've put an embarrassing number of hours into that game. It's easy to learn and particularly fun if you have a few online friends to team up with (instead of groups of random internet strangers). Edit: When we play games toget...

Re: Random events of the day

So... how did you wind up strolling back this way? Does majestic frequent Obsidian and he told you? Did you just do one of those "Whatever happened to" and pop in randomly? It actually was one of those "Whatever happened to" moments. I was shocked when I realised how long it was since I had stopped...

Re: Random events of the day

What up Gorth! :D So... tell us about the girl. ;) Yeah, wasn't sure if I should have mentioned it, because no, we are not a "romantic couple" or lovers or anything of the sort  We just happens to be close friends doing a lot of stuff together, like musicals, concerts, movies etc. on a regular...

Re: Random events of the day

Gorth!!! I had to triple check the timestamp on your post. Thought I'd clicked the wrong thread. How are you my old friend? Absolutely great seeing you. I was going through the site today, reorganising a few things, missing some folks, looked at your old Fallout fan art and here you are. You put a ...

Re: Random events of the day

Does it make me a bad person if I take some kind of perverse joy in watching the Fox News site squirm and whine and wet their pants in fear everytime AOC does something?

Re: Random rant of the day

The flying rats (as they are known down here) are pests, for all intent and purposes rats with wings. Major carrier of disease and parasites and a prolific breeder that breeds all year round, supplanting the native species wherever they invade new areas. In short, they're not a native species, do a ...
