Re: Star Trek in general now...

Ah, laddie, I labour under no delusions. You seem to deny that better characters make an episode that may have weaker writing more watchable. And I find VOY far more watchable than TNG. And I don't "recognise" any horrible charcterisation or writing in VOY. It had superior characters, and characters...

Re: ENTERPRISE - and Star Trek in general now...

Alright, because I woke up stupid early on a Saturday... 4:30am... and I've been quietly bored since my wife is sleeping... just for you, majestic...Sorry, this won't be a scholarly essay, there are no footnotes, no bibliography or encyclopedic citing of season and episode numbers, just off the cuff...

Re: Guild Wars 2 (Warning: Image heavy)

Once upon a time, I sort of balanced my characters along gender lines, 50/50 male/female alts. But eventually, I just sort of decided screw this, I prefer something that is pleasing on my eyes. I still have a handful of male heroes, but like many other games, it seems the females have the largest s...

...and that's how religious wars start  Live long and prosper More like religious schizms, but yeah, those can easily lead to wars too. If I find time this weekend I'll educate you on why the Voyager characters and actor were infinitely superior to this of TNG. I shouldn't have t...

Re: Random events of the day

I agree with Gorth. Find a way to move to a warmer climate in southern Europe. Malmo is not a good place to be.

Re: Guild Wars 2 (Warning: Image heavy)

Hmm... I could have sworn there used to be a video embedding tag. Ah well, nevermind. The theme music from the game. While you can hear bits and pieces of the piano parts playing at various locations throughout the game, it only plays in full length once you kill Zhaitan (i.e. finish the base game)...

Re: ENTERPRISE - and Star Trek in general now...

You can safely skip TNG. It's crap. It's actually aged very poorly, worse than TOS. TOS has redeeming factors and charm. TNG... not so much. And TNG has the weakest actors when you move beyond Patrick Stewart. *grabs popcorn and waits for majestic to arrive* :haha: Seriously man, talk to your 16-ye...

Re: The Future of Winterwind Part XXIV

I made a few minor tweaks to the website that I think make it look a lot better. https://www.winterwind-productions.com/ Gone is the dark grey with the dark blue-grey background. It's blue and white and much brighter now. I'll be ditching the Google search bar too. It looks clunky and I don't think ...

Re: ENTERPRISE - and Star Trek in general now...

I wouldn't say they're still into them since the show ended almost 20 years ago. ;)

But that's what I remember most during first run. In fact a few friends and I would get together to watch the X-Files, DS9, etc, and every Bajoran religious episode evoked groans. Worshiping aliens. Silly silly silly.

Re: Random events of the day

You can thank the peace treaty of Westphalen in 1648 for the invention of nation states. That's how young the concept really is. You might as well fight a genocidal war over who has the better table manners. It's completely man made, completely irrational and completely obsolete. Feudalism was inve...

Re: ENTERPRISE - and Star Trek in general now...

Well, you're quoting me and aparently I rated TNG higher back then too. And was really down on DS9 due to the Bajoran religious episodes. Now I just skip them. :)

Re: Random events of the day

I believe (pun unintended) that it's part of human nature, this need to identify yourself as part of something. Whether it's being nation states, religion, philosophy (political or otherwise), we just seem to have this need to identify us as something. Social Darwinism in action? My wife and I are ...
