While MMOs that are successful are hugely so, and make their developers/publishers a ton of money, for every successful MMO there are scores of complete failures. The gaming market can only support so many MMO games, I'd think. I wonder how many people regularly play more than one at any given time?...

Umm.. Mixed feelings about this one. While I enjoy playing World Of Warcraft a great, great deal, I just can't see Fallout being satisfying in that milieu. This proposal seems nothing but a desperate bid to use what one asset Interplay still has to dig themselves out of a huge grave. It's not that I...

Yes indeed. Six is really over-kill for any of the games. BG2 it's tempting to take the full team to maximise party interactions, but with the first BG and the IWD games, 3-4 is more than enough.

So you had to go away to get away.. Or is that get away to go away? Either way, hanging an albatross round someone else's neck can be very liberating!

Re: Thread-starter is the Internet Navigation Assistance Wha

Anyway, I must fleeAnyone have any ideas for a good party. Perhaps an elf druid with an attitude problem teamed up with two other elves that have attitude problems. The Infinity Engine games seem best suited to a party of 4 rather than the 6 you're allowed. Three works two if you multiclass to cove...

I just don't think that a single-player role playing game is really that much fun. There's no roleplaying, really. For single player, I tend to prefer strategy games. Not to say there aren't enjoyable single player RPGs, there are, but when it comes to DnD, I guess I've been spoiled by playing so mu...

Arcanum's setting completely does it for me, it's the best part of the game. I wish it had done well enough to warrant a sequel. And no, I haven't got NWN2, my computer isn't capable of running that bloated beast of a game. And I'm not sure I even want to get it; whether I buy it or not after I do u...

Yeah, there is some very neat magical equipment, and some very cool spells but you're right, it usually boils down to a very repetitive cycle involving a lot of Harm spell use. This is kind of another problem with Arcanum - yes, you can eventually get a neat character with a range of either spells o...

http://www.terra-arcanum.com/phpBB/dload.php A whole pile of Arcanum downloads. I think the steam-powered fix is one of Krupp's mods but I don't know which one. There's no database descriptions, there may be readme's in the downloads, but you'd have to check. I see I've got some investigating to do ...

I like Electrical and Mechanical, you can make some neat stuff with those. The Charged Rings you can make at 2nd level of Electrical are excellent, two of them giving you a +4 DEX boost. Gunsmithy is good too, though you can find some excellent guns without the skill. The techie skills are nice in t...

Nah, an evil mage. As I said, I've only played a mage once - I should probably also have mentioned, that I've completed Arcanum four or five times with a techie :) Ahh.. I thought you meant the only character you'd completed the game with was a mage. I'm far prefer the technology side of the game, ...
