Lily Allen is amazing.

The new Future of the Left. It's pretty solid.

Lily Allen is a semi-literate alcoholic whore. Almost as bad as Amy Winehouse. The only thing, the only thing I even remotely like about her music isn't even her, it's that the music is some strange cross between swing and pop.

I can't believe this was your first post in 1 year and 12 days. You're making me cry.

Well, so do I but she wouldn't like it. Unless she's into what I'd do to her which would border on dominating, degrading and humiliating. Who am I kidding. She probably would like that. And it wouldn't border on it. It would be exactly that. And in public too.

You're just jealous you're not sticking it to Bush. She's like Rage in a mini.

I don't even know who you mean.

And I'm hardly jealous. Blerina is gorgeous and we've been together for over two years now.

fudge You is addressed to Bush and she is intoxicatingly cute. I mean, say what you will about Tom Morello, but no human has ever called him cute.

George W. Bush was the 43rd president of the United States. He also did 9/11.

Tom Morello has spent years exposing the corrupt American Government and playing Guitar for Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave.

Lily Allen is the most beautifulest woman in the world.

Why would I be jealous of any of that. And thanks for the clarification. I thought you were referring to Kate Bush.

And as I just said to you on MSN, I've seen toothless methheads with more sex appeal than Lily Allen.

Okay, so maybe Bush didn't do 9/11, but Mos Def told me he did.

Music for July and August

A lot of praise for two artists i discovered this summer, Kap Bambino and Jean Jacques Perrey.

The first one is the owner of the wwilko label that includes Gangpol Und Mit which ive praised a lot the last few months. It is catchy electro rock gabba stuff, i dont really know where to rank. It might even be pop if you like, but at least i like it, quite a lot. Give the "Hey" clip a spin to get a feel of the energy coming from that composing duo. Some others on the label also have their great moments, namely Groupgris and Kania Tieffer, and a guy i already came along on another label too, Candie Hank

Jean Jacques Perrey is wholly another story. I got to know him when he had a hit with EVA somewhere in the late 90s, around the Fatboy Slim era, which is where i put the guy. Recently, browsing trough the mashup stuff from someone on Soulseek, i saw another cd of him, in collaboration with Dana Countryman. This stuff is way too happy, almost freakishly happy. I might be almost ashamed that i crave this, but i shouldnt, as they say in the extra track, everyone should be happy. Not shove the stuff aside because its way too happy. Anyway, JJ Perrey turned out an 80+ year old French electronic composer, who has been releasing music since the late 60s already. (that is very early for electronics).
I had a look at pretty much all of his discography, and it falls mainly into two types, one half is soundscapes, a bit spacey ambient orchestral movie stuff, the other half is happy nobrainer old classics pressed trough the moog synthesizer, which makes it incredibly droll and pretty mario-like. In some of the older stuff he even adds sounds of pigs and ducks, and has those fartbags from the jokestores in them, and i think that might go a tad too far, but the rest is lovely.

Oh yes, i also think i might listen more to the new warp signing, Hudson Mohawke, also listened a lot to some good blues jazzy electro stuff with female vocals, Belleruche.

Goeiepoep for July & August: (724)
Annie Lennox - Why?
Belleruche - The Itch (just something that looks better than an album cover)
Candie Hank - Disko der Aussatzigen
Candie Hank - Groucho Wont Die
Candie Hank - Schurkenlounge
Devandra Banhart - Little Boys
Diplo - Plantlife/Ninja Sky - Love 4 the World/Turnin Me On
Gangpol Und Mit - Mais d'abourd nous ecoutons que des hommes disent
Gangpol & Groupgris - Ghetto Galaxy
Groupgris - Drugs'n'roses
Hudson Mohawke - The Harvest
Jean Jacques Perrey & Dana Countryman - Edith von Aachenburg oh yes! incroyable! sit it trough!
Jean Jacques Perrey & Dana Countryman - Harry's Rag
Jean Jacques Perrey & Dana Countryman - Mame
Jean Jacques Perrey & Dana Countryman - Trolls Story (Triumphant Return of the Adventurers)
Jean Jacques Perrey & Harry Beuer - In a Happy Moog
Jean Jacques Perrey & Harry Beuer - Re-Entry to the Moon
Kania Tieffer - Heaven
Kania Tieffer - Saturday
Kap Bambino - Acid Eyes
Kap Bambino - Blond Roses
Kap Bambino - Hey!
Kap Bambino Love Khima France - Chalet
Rude Ass Tinker - U Cant Touch This
Serious Danger - Deeper

Goeiepoep 2 (95)

Been listening to some "old" stuff recently, like stuff from the 70'es. T-Rex (Children of the Revolution), Slade (Them Kinda Monkeys Can't Swing), Sweet (Ballroom Blitz), Kiss (I was made for loving you) etc.

Good stuff

That was... an exhaustive list, Dousi :D

Apart from audiobooks (Pimsleur's Learn Russian), I can't really say I've been listening to anything that I don't usually do. You could basically take a few random older posts of mine, and that'd be it.
I do bugger-all, but that's OK;

Have I mentioned that Bob Dylan's album Blonde on Blonde is more or less objectively wonderful and awesome and great music?

Because it is, see. I just bought it yesterday and discovered this. God, but that man can write.
Oh, God said to Abraham "Kill me a son"
Abe said "Man, you must be puttin' me on"
God say "No"
Abe say "What?"
God said "You can do what you want, Abe, but
the next time you see me comin', you better run"

Abe said "Where you want this killin' done?"
God said "Out on Highway 61"
