I've been rewatching Futurama and I found out I love Scruffy and Mr. Panucci for some reason.

I can only watch the original few seasons of Futurama. The rest just don't work for me. Family Guy on the other hand... whatever the latest season is on Netflix... cracked me up. Couldn't believe some of it it... Stewie telling Brian "I flew some girl from Iowa out here, *i have potty mouth* her in the mouth and sent her home..." My wife and I just stared at the TV in initial disbelief then lost it laughing. But then everything is better with a bag of weed...

Oh, yeah, I got married last in October. :)

Congrats as well to me :) you're luckier than me in that account (I don't want to get into details but my wedding fell through for the better)

I watched Going Postal and I liked it although I have one major issue with it and one minor issue. Adora is insufferable as a female love interest, she's supposed to be snarky I guess (I haven't read Going Postal but I am currently reading Moving Pictures) but she comes off as a shrew and very much not wife material (she is up there with Rey from the Force Awakens as basically textbook on how not to write a "strong" female character as she comes off as unpleasant to say the least) the fact that the two get married is baffling to say the least. If it wasn't for the box blurb on the back, I would've guessed Crippslock was Moist's love interest as their interactions aren't so annoying and she genuinely seems more interested in him instead of Adora. The minor issue was brought up by my friend. If Reacher Gilt looks so much like Alfred Molina, why not hire Alfred Molina?

Overall though it was pretty good though now I need to watch the color of magic so I can compare Jeremy Irons to Charles Dance.

Started watching the Christopher Ecclestone Dr. Who... hmm. Not bad thus far.

I really liked his Doctor and was disappointed he only did one series. I was also disappointed they couldn't "seal the deal" and get him back for the multi-Doctor special with John Hurt's War Doctor.

Ecclestone is a fine Doctor, yeah, but the first couple of episodes didn't convince me yet. They're not... bad, but uhm, yeah. 's off to a bit of a slow start, somehow, on the other hand I've heard nothing but positive things about the Dalek episodes in this series, so I'll just watch... and see.

So uhm you watched the 50th anniversary special after all? I seem to recall you having a rather heavy dislike for Moffat. :look:

Orphan Black and Longmire. I love them both but I think Longmire is overall the better show. Orphan Black is more my type of show but the entire season 1 is setup and Tatiana Maslany acting great but the fact the main clone is insufferable and her ex is only said to be abusive comes off as a whiny, entitled, deadbeat mother nowhere near as sympathetic as people make her out to be. Cosima is awesome, Helena is a bunch of tropes packaged in an interesting way and Alison is fun a train wreck kinda way (if Helena and Alison were in an Odd Couple-esque Black Comedy I would watch that shit forever :haha: ). I can't knock the plot as it is interesting and the setup is good. However I loathe Felix from his constant forced anti-authoritarian mindset that makes him basically "Sarah with a one-eyed trouser snake" to his nigh uselessness in everything, the only thing he's good at is scouting simply because he's not a clone .

Longmire is also slow but it's pacing is far more deliberate. The characters are more subdued and more archetypes compared to Orphan Black's more human characters (one could say Longmire's the DC while Orphan Black is the Marvel) but are functionally good. The mysteries of the week are very diverse which is cool and Jacob Nighthorse is just plain smarmy in all the right ways. Also Peter Weller is great every time he pops up.

Both however aren't very bingey since the pacing and wham episodes are far more slower to process.

Been watching Fear the Walking Dead. It is decent, even more down to earth than Walking Dead now who gone nutters.

Still watching Orphan Black and while I stand by my criticisms for season one, I admit I was too harsh on it (Sarah's not insufferable just VERY reactionary). 1/4 into season 4 and it is now officially my favorite show. Everything is tight with only one episode stumble (glares at the Tony episode), the characters are endearing in every way and the escalation of the seasons is amazing. I don't dig Cosima's forced Delphine relationship which gave me flashbacks of abuse and is overall just a personality clash that I think would stop the characters from truly loving each other, especially on Cosima's end if she knew what Delphine pulled with Rachel. Helena is a full character and not the bag of tropes I labeled her as previously as she has an arc that sticks and is awesome. Felix has became far less of a stereotype and is actually cool (just don't keep him with Sarah all the time). Season 2 is great despite having the worst episode in it (Helena comes into her own and yet can still be used well without messing up the story), Season 3 starts weird and dumb but the pay off is worth it and season four is season 1 but with the flaws cut out so instead of just being set up and half-characterized people we have awesome characters and what the consequences for the setup is.

On a side note I strongly believe that Orphan Black benefits greatly from the fact it's a 10 episode a season series. I probably would've dropped it if it was a 20+ episode a season series due to the set up heavy season 1. I dropped the X-Files since it it was too long in some regards (both season wise and episodes per season wise) and I usually am not a hater of filler but after watching Orphan Black I can see why people would hate filler episodes. Also I think Orphan Black is great with is restraint: It's violent but not gratuitous, it's sexy but not pornographic and just mature enough for me to not roll my eyes at the self-righteous misery that some shows pull that tackle things like this turn into, namely Gotham but there's others who pull it. It knows when to show stuff and when not to, something that's hard for a mature TV show.

Still watching Nu Who. At the end of the second season with Matt Smith as the doctor now.

I'm beginning to see why Joseph doesn't like the Moffat run series...

I saw a little of Doctor Who while in Dublin I think or was it Limerick? Either way, it felt very cheap and cheesy. Some lizardmen and women who had to do that super overused "My Ssssnakessss will come and kill for the ssssake of godssssssss" kind of talk.

Cheap and cheesey? Were you watching classic Doctor Who or new Doctor Who?

In the middle of Season 8 now. I find myself liking Peter Capaldi as Doctor but I really, really don't like Clara and the new Mickey is boring.

Sounds a bit like early 70ies Silurians. Lizardmen don't come up all that often in the new series (gee, once early in Matt Smith's run as 11th Doctor), Madame Vastra aside - and they obviously don't look cheap or are cheesy in the new series. :eyebrow:
