To Do: Watch Rugby, stage coup...

A bit of local news from down under:

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,20853158-2,00.html

FIJI'S military chief today maintained his threat to stage a coup if the Government failed to meet his demands, but said it would have to wait until after the annual military versus police rugby game in Suva.

Military Commander Frank Bainimarama gave Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase a 24-hour ultimatum yesterday to clean up his Government or face a coup, despite winning a series of concessions from the Prime Minister.

"I maintain my demands and the deadline still stands and I will make a commitment to my stand after the rugby match," Commodore Bainimarama said.

"When I will do something, I will let the people know."

Commodore Bainimarama is due to attend the rugby game starting at 4.00pm local time (1700 AEDT) and hundreds of Fijians have started arriving at the stadium for the game.

It's all about priorities... first time for the game, *then* time for the military coup

It should be noted, that part of the reason for the coup is the generals dissatisfaction with the corruption and inefficiency of the political leaders.
