They own Alien, Star Wars, Marvel...
Well, I don't do Star Wars or superheros and Alien... acquiring the rights to a 40 year old film because they bought the studio that originally made it does not make Alien a Disney film.

Honestly? Never tried it! Not very traditional to my region, the Scanian.

But, its basically fermented Fish. It smells horrible but with some ryebread (knäckebröd) and I think sourer cream its supposed to be really damn delicious. And you're supposed to open it under water, Amerikaner! Hah!

I am proud of our odd traditions, things we should uphold! My region basically has Svart soppa, Black Soup! Pigs blood soup instead. But thats really not as weird as Surströmming. Seemingly, The Icelandic which is closer to old vikings than we are today, have fermented shark! Seemingly also very freaking weird.

Googling on it, I say they either intentionally screwed with one of our traditional dishes to make "sensational" bullshit out of it or their can was bad. If they shipped it from Sweden without cooling it although...I say it could be *i have potty mouth*.

Yes and then I have not either watched a fucking Disney movie since I was like 11 or something.

I think the Faroe Islands are all about Fish, although it's cured Fish if I remember correctly. Salted (to extract the moisture) then hung out to dry. Not 100% sure though, I'll need to look it up again. Would look nice on the clotheslines in the garden with socks, underwear and sides of Fish on them

I always thought they just ate sheep and Fish on Iceland.

Danes have this thing for pickled Herring and Schnaps

We got the herring here too. :D

But yeah, the old Nordic viking nations/states got some weird dishes going on!

The shark thing on Iceland is probably one of the very seasonal dishes so not so common most of the year!

Fun fact, in some places (e.g. Poland as far as I know) traditional Herring salad is made with Herring sperm. :haha:
Requested: One Mark V ECM unit, 1000 km of Fullerene cable, one low-yield nuclear warhead.

Purpose: Surprise party for foreign dignitary.

A life hack for your fun fact, don't eat the Herring salad in Poland.

Why? It's pickled herring with some vegetables, apples and a nice, creamy marinade. :p

Good Danish food... (no Schnaps though, which should be served in shot glasses and at a temperature below -5, i.e. from the freezer). The yellow stuff on top of the pickled herrings is what is locally called "curry salad", although it is more of a relish with curry flavour.

Giving our landlord a letter today...

We've lived here just over a year. He's a nice enough guy, a retired bus driver and... a raging alcoholic with memory problems (or at least he claims he never remembers what we tell him) and no clue about how to maintain a home, one he's owned for 40 years and where the second floor of the house is our apartment. We have literally no insulation in the walls. None. We either roast or freeze. We've talked to him repeatedly, he's done nothing so today he gets a letter. He then has two weeks to have insulation installed... and considering the age of his house, over 80 years old, he qualifies for a free program from the utility company... or we have no choice but to report him to the city.

Shame. Nice guy, lovely neighbourhood and the place could be quite nice. But he's kind of clueless in these things and admits he's always getting ripped off by contractors.
