Doom definitely brings more more nostalgia than Half-life. Mostly because I never played HL though...

Though I'm not really looking forward to either since odds are I probably won't be able to play them anyway...

I know, I don't think my computer can handle them either

Neither.
While I realise that a well-made FPS can raise the bar in graphics and whatnot (and both these games certainly look to be doing that), I really don't care for the genre.
There are worlds out there where the sky is burning. And the sea's asleep and the rivers dream … People made of smoke and cities made of song … Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, somewhere else the tea's getting cold!

Doom 3. Been looking forward to it since Doom 2. I've played those games to bits... and back.
I do bugger-all, but that's OK;

half life 2 man! sure doom looks great and all, but i want to see the new half life engine, all the special AI, facial animation, lip synching, and stuff. especially considering the engine is used in another game as well, Vampire, i think this could even be better than doom.

I'm looking forward more to Vampire: Bloodlines than any of the above mentioned game...

I thought Wolfenstein 3D was great, I got all 6 episodes and the 'Spear of Darkness' or destiny or whatever, but that's about the extent of my joy of ID games. The MP part of Doom bored me, but the first MP Quake was fun. Return to Castle Wolfenstein, wasnt actually ID, but it disappointed me a bit still.

I guess Im just more into non-ID FPS, like Half-life, Unreal, Max Payne. I like FPS with a good singleplayer.

I am definitely gonna get Half-life 2.

I hope for the Doom3 multiplayer part to be somewhere near Quake's...

I don't have any interest in HL2 whatsoever.
Requested: One Mark V ECM unit, 1000 km of Fullerene cable, one low-yield nuclear warhead.

Purpose: Surprise party for foreign dignitary.

HL2, because i like HL1, because it'll be there for the xbox and my pc isnt good enough for either doom3 or hl2, and because fo the incredible gravity-like weapon in the HL2 trailer. (you know, the thing wiht which you can throw tables, chairs, candles, whatever)

edit 2008 wow have i ever been that young and hopeful, amazing that is me
