I have avoided even LOOKING at the stuff for it so far- I had been waiting since 1996 for Morrowind to come out (Daggerfall was my first RPGish game) and when it finally did and i got my pre-reserved copy from my local Babagges I discovered my puter wouldn't play it- cuasing yet another over a years wait until I got a new laptop...:o

I'm hoping the next one is more CRPGish and less FPSish myself...I hate the way they did the marksman stuff for instance- should depend ENTIRELY on the characters skills not the PLAYERs skills IMO...;)

WHY do I have to confine myself to a tiny area of the world now? What's wrong with these guys?

Haven't looked into it yet myself- but smaller world would certainly be easier to build I suspect and maybe wouldnt take as many years as Morrowind did- Daggerfall was a HUGE world but much of it had nothing in it as I recall...of course you did get to use carts and horses to carry your stuff which was a wonderful thing for a packrat like me...;)

well, by the sounds of it its set in cyrodiil. if that means the province, then it shouldnt be smaller than morrowind, as morrowind province is smaller than cyrodiil (i think) and we only got to visit a part of the province anyway.

however, because of an exclusive contract with some gaming mag they cant release any info for it for a while, so theres a lot of conjecture going on

That brings up another question- why do some people call my character Cryodil in Morrowind? (IIRC this is usually said to my Breton)...

and the cyrodiils are the imperials. or so i believed, as the bretons are from high rock

maybe its a generic (and insulting?) dunmer name for a human, as they are quite xenophobic on vvardenfell. although i dont remember my nord ever being referred to as such.

or maybe its one of many bugs and oversights and inconsistencies - considering the world was entirely their own creation, little errors are bound to slip in, but overall its definitely an interesting setting

Ooops....that character IS an Imperial not a Breton so maybe that explains the Cyrodils tag....:o

heh, nevermind.

looking at the rumours and the little info from the magazine that has the exclusive preview rights that trickles trhough on the elder scrolls forum, oblivion is going to be smaller, with the rationale that most gamers prefer smaller games. my complaint is that im one of the gamers that prefers big games and that i expect the elder scrolls to fill that need....

also, apparently there are now minigames of some sort for lock picking and such. hmmm.

trying not to pass judgement based on so little information, but i fear for the future

Yet another new Morrowind character!

This one is a specialist made mostly for fun.

Aqua F Argonian (Atronach)
Class: Salvage Master
Focus:Magic
Primary attributes:intelligence & luck

Major
Alteration
Mysticism
Restoration
Alchemy
Illusion

Minor
Spear
Mercantile
Speechcraft
Enchant
Conjuration

Female because for Argonians the females get a boost to intel and will while males get a boost to agility and speed so for a magic based class the female is the better choice.

Her main focus will be water exploration of course...

Are they going to make another expansion or is Bloodmoon the last one?

Well she has already discovered one partially sunken ship along with harvesting a handful of pearls from Kollops while slaughtering slaughterfish for their scales.

As I recall there are also numerous daedroth (sp?) that inhabit the water especially over by Sadrith Mora (or thats where one of my other guys ran across a few)..

I believe there is a conversation with someone in Seyda Neen that suggests her relative somewhere claims he found a submerged city as well.

In any event the statement that there is NOTHING UNDERWATER EVER seems a bit of an exagertion- unless you are referring to the fact that you can complete the game without ever getting anything out of the water...

BTW just how much of the watery areas in the game have you explored first hand?

I think its been pretty much determined that there will be no more official expansions...especially now that ES IV is 'on the way"...
