I think its a matter of generation.

For me Fallout 1,2, Baldurs gate 1,2 and so on are the deepest RPGs out there. I know there is deeper but I have not played them probably.

Pre extended cut is horrendous, post extended cut is simply bad but could have passed as a big let down.

For a long time, 'Rogue' was the deepest crpg for me. Often you had to go all the way down to level 25 and sometimes even deeper to get the Amulet of Yendor.

Yes. When my '@' runs around and whacks h's (hobgoblins) and e's (emus) you just feel like you are there in the thick of the action. I still remember the first time running into the 'D' (dragon) :shock:

Or when you lose all you gold because you accidentally aggravated the darned l's hanging around in the far corner of a room (leprechauns) and don't kill them before they get to you.
