Mabon replies that one drink would be nice. Provided they can keep it at one. Especially Bactar. Whispering quietly, he reminds the group, especially Bactar, about the reason they're here and suggests that they keep their eyes and ears open to anything unusual, from either the guests or the staff. He also wonders how Erisael and Hadija are doing.

***

With Erisael and Hadija having concluded their walk around the perimeter, they had back to the open bar area, Erisael having mentally marked several points where she thinks access over the walls would be easiest and most discreet. She suggests that she and Hadija discreetly talk to other guests, looking for any rumours or strange tales recently that would give clues about the vampire.

Mabon/Bactar/Darzen/Maryana:

Maryana replies to Mabon: "It seems they're doing fine Mabon, I just saw them pass the terrace downstairs, look, you can still see them around the glass stairways" while pointing towards them.

Juan replies: "Ask away, i am here for your questions, or did i miss something?." after a pause he continues""Is there any particular drink you would like? Wait, i will bring you our drinks menu." With that, your valet walks over to the casino bar and gets a few nicely handwritten menus for you:

Erisael/Hadija: After your roundabout you head for the everymans pub. The area under the porch and hayloft is free for anyone to enter, regardless of looks or equipment, however, a double door leading into the disco is guarded by four men, who do seem to look at guest appearance a bit. For instance, you guess they would comment on the halberd on Hadijas back. The outside pub is filled quite a bit, your guess is about fifty people are around here, most of them dressed in commoner clothes, many seem to have some purpose here, like being a tradesmen, while others have simply arrived early like you, hailing from Baysdeep or as far as Chrostjohl.
Among them is a dwarf that seems to be already causing trouble. He is slamming his fist on the bar for more beer, ordering whole pitchers for himself. The bartenders reluctantly give him more, they seem well aware of who he is and are not of mind to refuse him. Apart from the dwarf, there is also an orc that catches your eye, he is a giant male, and is sitting on a bar stool much too small for him, calmly drinking water. He is alone and clothed in gladiatorial fashion, the stools next to him are empty, and people keep their distance while passing him. Along the north wall of the everymans pub are three jugglers, they are throwing anything up in the air, candles, small vases, beer mugs, up to seven at a time. A small crowd has gathered around them, praising them and spurring them on.

NB2 on your remark of marking entrance points, at least during daylight, there is little place to enter the mansion stealthily, during night time those unshuttered windows on the second floor, especially northwest, might be a good target, problem is getting up there unseen. The shutters of other windows arent locked in any way btw, but opening them into a lit room or the like would be a problem of course. Theres loads of possibilities of course though, let me know if you plan anything, so i can reply on its chance of succeeding/problems associated with it.

NB3 on your suggestion of discreetly talking to guests/staff, just let me know what you are asking of whom and in what way, or would you simply like some sort of gather information check and no personal stuff? (same for Hadija of course)

NB4 note that your horses are as of yet not tended to. I currently have them outside near the road from the east you arrived from, they are bound alongside there, but unguarded/supervised. I wouldnt leave them there for too long.

Darzen, thinking it a bit early and that being drunk will diminish vampire hunting, Says "I think I'll just have some tea. We're probably going to be here a few days, so there will be plenty of time to sample the finer things."

Hadija suggests to Erisael "Perhaps we should attend the horses? Its not safe to leave them unattended in a high traffic area"

Mabon agrees with Darzen and orders a tea as well, asking in a low voice if either Darzen or Maryana have any suggestions on their tactics since outright asking, especially now that they're inside, is not an option and detecting evil is not a spell he commonly uses.

Erisael agrees with Hadija, commenting that she can't believe they forgot something so obvious. They attend to the horses, stabling them and paying out of the party's shared funds.

Juan nods to the orders of tea, heads for the bar and comes back with a plate with cups and a kettle of hot water, he holds up a wooden case with several sachets, pointing out different fruits and melanges, before responding to Bactar: No, good sir, this ale is not dwarven, it would be very costly for us to import such. There might be some available in Troccopetto, if you really wish for it i can make an order and have it here on the final festival day. Elsewise the only thing i can offer you that should make yourself feel as if at home are our spirits. Was that all you wished to ask? I had the feeling there was more..

While Juan is off to fetch the drinks Maryana notes that she's not sure if outright asking is no option. The correspondence with Lacedys stated she was under cover, so it would be unlikely the personnel, let alone the guests, would know much that they would not be willing to tell. On the other hand though, the correspondence noted as well she had different members of the personnel under her influence, so caution in asking would be smart. Then again, with Lacedys having escaped, the vampiress and her followers could well have a description of us of some sort, which would make much caution superfluous.

Hadija and Erisael go about stabling the horses. Near the guardhouse is room for stabling, and as you address one of the guards he points you to a good looking wooden shed where a clerk stands to handle such services. The man inside helps you with the horses for a small fee, six silver per horse per day. This includes regular checking up, food and water, hay, and one walk per day.

As Mabon sips his tea, he mulls over their options. "I don't feel well suited to making such inquiries. Perhaps you could handle those discrete questions, Darzen? I will keep my eyes open for any that pay us too much attention." Having said that, and being aware their descriptions may be known, Mabon starts casually glancing around to see if anyone is paying them any undo attention.

Having stabled the horses with Hadija, Erisael suggests they return to the common bar. Once their, she begins looking about for men to flirt with, and part of her flirting involves her talking about vampire fantasies, how she finds them erotic, etc, in the hopes that they can gather some information.

Darzen, while drinking his tea, calmly asks Juan "So Juan, you seem like the kind of guy that knows everyone's comings and goings, notice anything interesting or unusual around here these last few weeks? Oh, and do you know where a pole dancer named Zalfide can be found? We would like to see her, preferably before dark."
(had to reread some of the stuff from the graveyard to find that name)

Juan looks happy at the interest displayed in the Mansion and its caterings, replying to Bactar: "I'm afraid i cannot answer all of that good dwarf, i can assure you however the mansion is built strong, with its granite base. I am unsure of its origins however, though i can tell you our proprietor, Carlos, bought the premises seven years ago, having in mind to create the best and largest establishment in the four states Quartochry, that could at the same time cater to the masses as well as the more renowned peoples. During his time here he expanded the Mansion to take care for these people, introducing the casino, night club and ball room to the people in the same place as their usual wishes of taverns and bars, over the course of the years adding to that the boat you see outside and the cellars below, who are now turned into a beautiful arena for gladiatorial fights. All of this brought us to the goals set by Carlos, becoming the most grand location for any person of any heritage to spend their leisure time. I've been working here pleasantly for two years now, and have come to appreciate Carlos' sense for entrepeneurship, he has truly done a remarkable job here, and seems never satisfied with what it can become, hoping one day to even attract people from overseas. As for dwarves building it, i would honestly have no clue, though it would not strike me if it were so, when i look at the base of our mansion i cannot help to imagine your race having a part in that.
Turning to Darzen next, he thinks deeply at his question, before disappointing you:"No, good sir, i do not know of such a woman, but if you are looking for our pole-dancers i could help you. We currently employ three, who alternate performances at our night club, it could well be one of them is the lady you seek. We could visit that part of the premise next, if you like, and see who is on stage. If the one you seek is currently not performing i could see what i can do to have you speak with her. I do hope however, that you have not set your eyes on her, as we do not like our clientele flirting up to our personnel, we'd rather have you seek out one of our customers should you hope for company during the night. I do not fear this is the case however, with your inquiry after unusual comings and goings, this does interest me however, would you care to explain what exactly it is you are looking for, we can use any help if you feel something could be awry." he pauses, and after Bactars comment continues:"I fear, my dwarf, that the Gods forbid little. One of our pole dancers is indeed dwarven, and not only that, she is actually male. Over her time she has had many stage names, maybe she is the Zalfide you are looking for?"

Hadija and Erisael, after stabling the horses, return to the everymans pub, where Erisael looks to pick up someone for the night. Walking trough the area elegantly and chamingly she tries to get a few onlookers, and succeeds easily in doing so, as many a male turns his head to her stride. It seems you do good on the market this night, and it does not take long before one of the guests becomes bold enough to approach. It is one of the jugglers you saw before, he is a good looking young Vareshi man, who walks up to you with an easy wink. The flirting goes well, with a few words and looks you seem to have him in your pocket. Mentioning vampiric fantasies doesnt come over well however, as the man's eyes grow wide and when you press the issue he starts to look for excuses to get away from you.
Further tries help little, finding a man for the night should pose no problem, but none of them reply interested or suspicious of your mentioning of vampires. One tells you to try your luck in the Night Club or something, at least its always dark there.

Darzen finishes his beverage and says to Juan "Oh, nothing so sordid as that. We just would like to speak with her or I suppose possibly him is all. I don't suspect that Zafilde is performing right now though, shes something of a night owl as best as I know As for the odd comings and goings I mentioned, its probably nothing, but we would like to speak to Carlos after we ask around about the dancers."

(ooc - sorry guys, completely forgot it was my turn... feel free to post a reminder if I forget)

Mabon says nothing. He's somewhat shocked at the idea of a trans-gender/cross dressing dwarf.

Erisael returns to sit talk with Hadija, relaying her lack of luck at getting any information from any of the men she flirted with. She simply casts her eyes around the room, watching the other customers for anything unusual or anyone paying too much attention to her or Hadija.
