Juan replies to your surprises: "I know, we thought the same thing when he first came to our doors, and were reluctant to put a cross-dresser on stage. I can assure you though, we wouldnt want it otherwise. Riki has become a crowd favorite, and although his dancing could be a lot better, she has the laughers on her side, wearing extravagant peacock feathers, colorful dresses and interacting with the audience in a way the singled out customer won't like, but his friends will. Let me spoil no more of, let us go there." With that, Juan waits for you to finish your teas, commenting on Darzens request of seeing Carlos that that will be nigh impossible, he is a very busy man with the harvest festival just a night away.

He takes away the tray with cups and kettle, before leading you out of the Casino via the other glass stairway. You cross the lounge again, heading into the corridor to the common oriented part of the mansion. A double door leads into the disco, where a band of young and charismatic bards is playing up-tempo folk songs, there is a drummer, a bassist, a banjonist and a singer, Juan points them out as "The Blondies" and tells you they will be performing the whole three days. The podium for this band is in the north of the room, and in front of it is a large dancefloor with standing tables, where quite a bunch of people are dancing and cheering to the beat. Near the lavatories in the northwest are two gnomes in suits, they seem to avoid eye contact with the guards and personnel, whispering what are probably offers to passers-by. Another double door leads from here to the everymans pub, where you can see Hadija and Erisael just about to sit down to talk.
Juan beckons the four of you to follow him to a third set of doors, at the south of the room, they are of a black dyed metal, presumably to keep in the sound, and as Juan leads you by them you wander into a wave of music, jazzy sounding, with a lot of wind instruments.

The room is very dark, with a long catwalk being the prominent piece of furniture, some kind of magical spotlights lit up the catwalk, and discoballs around the ceiling reflect the beams of artificial light. A gorgeous woman is currently on the catwalk, dressed down to merely a corset and suspenders, revealing all of her body spare her private parts. With a walking stick in one hand and a top hat in the other she moves sensually up and down the platform, whenever the trumpeteers reach a climax she locks eyes with one of the crowd, pointing her walking stick at him and winking, before swinging around the dancing pole and heading back. She has about thirty intent onlookers, and some twenty others are inside the night club, silently chatting or hanging at the bar on the right wall. Next to this bar, the other two dancers are having a vermouth, one of them is Riki, the dwarf Juan told about, who is everything you dared to expect, wearing a lush aquamarine dress, pink boa, and a turquoise peacock feathered tail, the other, a slim and tall woman with long black hair and sharp eyes giggles at a remark of him. She is dressed in closely fitting leather that accentuates her curves in an enticing manner. Two bodyguards stand near them to keep away inebriated fans.

Your valet points the three of them out, the woman currently on stage is Lois, and the slim woman next to Riki is called Ariel. Juan asks of you what you wish next, enjoy a cocktail or the like while watching Lois perform, or get introduced to Riki and Ariel straightaway, interrupting them in their free time.

Hadija and Erisael take up places at the bar of the everymans pub to exchange the lack of information. You notice no queer behaviour as you sit there, only the gladiatorial orc occasionally glances at Hadija's halberd, maybe hoping for a decent opponent in the arena. The three jugglers have gone back to entertaining the crowd, the young Vareshi with the easy wink still occasionally tries to catch Erisaels attention, although scared away at the first mention of vampiric fantasies, he seems to have mastered his initial reservations and is looking to pick you up again.

Mabon looks from Juan to the dancers then back to Juan. "Perhaps my friends wish to greet them. I... would not be comfortable. Women often tempt men with their wiles and the stories I heard on the road on the way here... of those that drain away your life, figuratively and literally..." Mabon feigns a shudder.

Erisael is casually indifferent to the young man's interest. She continues talking to Hadija, casting the occasional flirtatious smile the man's way, more out of boredom and habit than any real interest.

Darzen, taking a chance, approaches the women and says "Ah, Zafilde, how lovely to see you" hoping to get some reaction out of one of them.

Ariel and Riki look at your approach with some apprehension, they do not seem impressed by your calling out a name, they exchange a glance, and Riki softly says to Ariel: Seems we've attracted some attention Ariel, though he doesnt seem to know us well, do you think he wants you or me? to which Ariel giggles: No doubt he's coming for you Riki, he seems the type to like some facial hair. After this she beckons you to come closer, introduce yourself gentleman, enjoying the shows tonight?. The two bodyguards keep an eye on you intently, looking for any odd behavior.

[nb]It seems your calling out of Zalfide's name has little effect, either she is not here, or the ladies are able to keep their calm. No other onlookers react strangely to you with stares or the like, it seems to you as if nobody here knows whom you speak of.

[edit]
Juan gives Mabon an awkward look, raising an eyebrow. it seems he's not sure what you are hinting at and thinks it a bit of an excessive opinion overall.

Darzen replies "My apologies, from a distance, I thought you were someone else. I don't suppose you have seen Zafilde around here, I had understood that Zafilde was a pole dancer in this fine establishment."

"Oh, and where are my manners, I should introduce myself, I am Darzen Kor, of the West Mekkeshi Kor's" Darzen bows "and these are my companions Bactar, Mabon, and Maryana"

"We came to the mansion to find Zafilde, but since you don't seem to recognize the name, perhaps you are familiar with some of our other recent acquaintances, or perhaps one of their names will jog your memory? A man named Lacedys then, or perhaps Marrius who is lately of the graveyard in Madira?," at this point Darzen takes a moment to describe what those two look like, in the hopes that perhaps the dancers would recognize them from the description and remember having seen them with anyone. "I don't suppose you, erm, ladies are familiar with a fine gentleman by the name Yizar? How about Anatoly then? " and Darzen proceeds to describe them as well (or perhaps Juan could interject something here).

]"Anything you can think of would be a great help to us, this is a matter of importance."

As you describe the different persons to the pole dancers, Ariels expression changes from her casual after-work mood to a more sincere and cold one. She breaks you off halfway your descriptions, stating: I do not know who you speak of, foreigner, but it is not my business. I thought you came here to shower me with compliments, but this seems not the case. Come, Esteban, we will take our leave.. With that, she beckons one of the two bodyguards with them and strides off, casting a cool glance at Bactar, Mabon and Maryana as she strides off in a stern manner.
Riki picks up the awkward silence that falls as Ariel takes her departure, Well, you sure know how to pick up the ladies, Darzen Kor of the West-Mekkeshi Kors., she says with a doubtful grin.

In the meanwhile, Bactar's attention is caught up by Lois' performance, he seems to have lost interest in the long tour around the establishment, and is on the verge of ordering beers and carousing trough the rest of the night looking at this lovely dancer.

Darzen whispers to Mabon as the dancer walks off "Go find Erisael, quickly, we need her stealth skills to tail her. Something about her manner I don't quite trust."

Darzen, as she walks away, tries to notice if she casts a shadow, or has a reflection if possible, then checks the same for the other two dancers. Or any other vampiric stuff that he can think of off the top of his head, Knowledge religion +7.

To the she-male dwarf, Darzen says "My dear, erm, lady, I can be quite charming when need be, but this truly is a matter of some urgency. We have to find Zafilde, and quickly, so perhaps I was a bit abrupt with my questions, and perhaps it came off as an interrogation. It was not my intent to offend your friend. What it boils down to is that Zafilde is a pole dancer at this establishment as best we can tell, and as there are only three of you, I have to believe that one of you is she."

Bactar follows the motions of the dancing female, swaying her exotice features left and right. He ponders upon ordering beer but decide to not put the job at risk by drinking. Even though it is tempting to take a beer or a few and enjoy the fine installment. He glances after those who leave, thinking about what will happen next. He slowly in a slowed down phase of the dance, tosses a scanning glance around the room. Giving the transexual dwarf a angry glance, clearly finding it disgraceful for his race to have such a weird thing among their kin.

Bactar mutters about the sissy boy who is the tour guide and glances about after him

Juan? Tell me something would you? Why is that dame so grumpy? He speaks, about the one who just left with the gorilla of a bodyguard. He fiddles with his beard a bit and glances at the dancer a bit more, also looks around to see if there is anyone beside the party, dancers, Juan and so on.

Calmly setting down his water, the huge Orc begins to stir. Rising from his stool, he stretches, then walks towards the woman who has managed to capture his attention. Needing only a few strides, he places his bulk in front of her, bringing his face close to hers.

Say, lass, I hear vampires are yer thing? Mine too. I feel like I've got too much blood coursing through my body right now and I could use some relief.

Mabon looks after the departing dancer and says to Darzen, "You realise, of course, that Erisael's skills will do little when the trail will be cold before she can get here. And then there is always the matter of getting into restricted, guarded areas. Still, her manner was rather abrupt for a dancer that should be accustomed to all kinds of comments from the, uh, clientele. Perhaps it's time we group up again." Mabon turns and goes to collect Erisael and Hadija.

Erisael raises an eyebrow at the orc's comments and casts a slightly amused, slightly wary glance at Hadija. Turning to the newcomer, she says, "Well, my dear Orcish friend, I think you misunderstood me. I'm not a vampire and not into bloodletting, at least not as you might think. Although I am very interested in the rumours I've heard swirling about this festival. If you can shed light on these dark rumours, then by all means, join us. Otherwise..." Erisael shrugs her shoulders.

Darzen: You can't really tell much about shadows or reflections, it is very dark in the night club, and spots are shining from all sorts of directions. That, combined with the crowdedness makes you unable to make out any shadows apart from Lois's, on stage. It might be a good idea to wait until Ariel gives a performance to check on this.
Your knowledge of vampiric features is quite extensive: You know they should indeed cast no shadows or reflections, that they are vulnerable to silver and magical weapons, that they are able to assume alternate forms of bats or wolves, can dominate others to do their bidding, they should be resistant to cold and electricity, should be able to assume a gaseous form, and can climb as a spider. They should be unable to cross running water, and would die if immersed in it. They would also perish from prolonged direct sunlight, or by driving trough a wooden stake. Furthermore, garlic, holy symbols and mirrors should keep it at bay, and to enter any building the vampire has to have been invited to go in.

Riki replies: Oh, do not worry Darzen Kor, I am not so easily offended. Apparently Ariel is, though i did not notice anything about her mood earlier on the day. I cannot help you though, I have never heard of the people you describe, nor this Zalfide you are looking for, I can only tell you that i don't think that would be me. Care to explain to me your urgency?

Bactar: Juan replies: I would not know dear dwarf, Ariel has always been kind to me, I have never seen her acting like that. Usually she does her best to entertain all of us, personnel and customers alike. I wonder what your leader said that offended her so.
As you look troughout the room you see about fifty customers inside, none of them look of importance though. There are a few remarkable people from far away of course, but noone catches your attention as being odd. The people of note seem the dancers Lois and Riki (with her bodyguard) and Juan. You do note there is no band playing the music by the way, like the lights, this seems to be of a magical origin.

Mabon: Luckily you've seen Hadija and Erisael sit in the commoners bar when Juan led you trough the disco to the Night Club. Juan takes note of your leave, as you head trough the black double doors into the disco. While there you see Ariel head towards the lavatories in the northeast of the room, where she whispers something to the two gnomish suited males, and heads inside. Erisael and Hadija are sitting in the commoners bar, and you can see them chatting with an orc dressed in gladiatorial fashion. You pass trough the double doors toward them, the four guards noticing your passing.

nb: I will pm Runey with some details about what he does and doesnt know about vampires or the mansion overall.

The Orc straightens and lets out a roaring laugh. Hrrm, I can't help you thar. Not with knowledge. He flexes his thick, scarred arms, then shrugs. But if you help me, I'm on your side. With strength and weapons, you'll find none better. We can all use a little protection sometimes.

Erisael smiles at the Orc. "An extra sword, one wielded with strength at that, is always welcome. I am Erisael. My companion here is Hadija and..." noticing Mabon coming into the bar, she adds, "That is Mabon. We travel with three others. A slightly insane dwarf named Bactar. A slightly insane mage... but aren't they all? And a lady named Maryana. And of course, we are here not for the festivities but because there is evil afoot in this place. The blood-sucking kind."

Mabon approaches the table, is introduced to the Orc by Erisael and tells them about their cold encounter with the dancer. Erisael again states her reluctance to enter the mansion proper with no arms or armour and says "If the wizard wants a fight, you should all return here. No doubt his questioning has pissed off more than a few and word will soon travel back to our foe. At least here, we'll have our gear."

The Orc bares his fangs in a grin, licking his lips. Hrrm, I've seen loadsa evil here. Who you talking bout? Turning his head, he acknowledges Mabon with a glance, then speaks to Erisael again. You got more friends around? I've got some spare stuff if they need. Down in the cellars where I fight. I wanna get out of this place, but I'll help you if you got trouble wit someone. Just watch who you cross here.
