Roll your starting gold and buy your gear. All items and prices are on the d20 site. Not sure what the starting gold though. Did a quick google search and it's 5d4x10 apparently.

And don't forget to post your character sheet in the reference thread.

Nice. Marcus posted his character so we're all set.

Decided to pick myself up a light crossbow and upgrade to a chain shirt. Ah well, I still have some coin left in my purse.

Made a response post. They will become more interesting as more stuff happens. Rolled up stats for Klara the serving girl (4d6 six times straight across), shes a paragon of humanity with those stats. WIll do the same for other relevant NPCs as time goes by, as well as some irrelevant NPCs so you dont go guessing who is important.

No! Really?
Rolled up stats for Klara the serving girl (4d6 six times straight across)
I don't know what you mean by that or what it actually translates to.

Unless you're a DM of a different breed, most DM's don't show the NPCs stats. I've always based my guesses on who is or isn't important by their role in the story.

And yes, I'm razzing you. Here's a smiley.

Still don't know what "4d6 six times straight across means".

EDIT: Ah, just read the play post. I guess you lads do indeed do things differently these days. I've never played a campaign where flirting was actually worth rolling. It's simple narrative. "Customer smiles at waitress. Waitress smiles back. Makes small talk. Has a laugh." Just passes the time and has more going on than "I sit and wait for the appointed hour, doing nothing." The only time we'd bother rolling is if it was a bluff, intimidate check, etc, etc.

The showing NPC stats is just for ease of reference for me if I do it across multiple computers.

I rolled her stats. 4d6 take the three highest. But I rolled straight across. By which I mean I didnt assign her stats, she just got what I rolled in order.

Normally I would glaze over that stuff with rolling for flirting and bluffing and stuff, but its actually relevant here. And I havent DM'd in years, so I'm a bit rusty on things, so give me time to get my confidence back.

Ah. It just sounded really weird and I wondered why you were telling us.

And if the flirting is relevant, so much the better.

For my tastes, RPing, either PnP or online should be about 90% story and 10% mechanics. I've encountered DMs here and there that just went far too far with rolling. "You go to take a pee... Oh, a 1! Critical fumble!!! You pee all over your pants!" That never actually happened. I'm just using it as an example of "over rolling" the most mundane things.

Im not going to roll random junk like that, I'm just saying that getting to know some people and causing them to be favorably disposed to you in the beginning will be worth your while in the long term.

Besides, I already know 90% of the NPCs you're going to meet in town even if I havent statted em out yet.
