BG2 one more time

Post by Joseph » Wed Jun 14, 2006 2:32 am

OK, extreme boredom lead to my re-installing this but I figured what the hell, why not.

I'm mostly done SoA, just walking from town to town and resting a lot to advance the timers on my stronghold quests (playing with all strongholds). The bard one keeps crashing on me though during the play. Oh well. Guess I can skip that.

Weirdness came in the form of the CLUA Console. I was creating some arrows and the code for one of them went snafuey. It gave me 1 arrow of biting that can't be removed from it's invenotry slot, sold, dropped etc and I have two blank inventory slots. They look empty but you can't put anything in them. You just get the can't be removed text. Stupid CLUA, 3 slots that are bugged.

Ah well. Irenicus dies either tonight or tomorrow. Depending on how much sleeping and/or painting I do.

Shadowkeeper might help you to clean out your inventory :)

Strangely, what did fix that inventory problem was the coloured globes nearthe end of Watchers Keep. I just kept getting more until it said "your item is on the ground" and when I looked, it had dumped those useless invisible items.

Now however, there's a bigger prpblem... I'm supposed to be off for my final battle but the game is buggered. It tells me I haven't finished my challenges I need to leave when I have.

Ah yes. Irenicus was played by David Warner, great actor.

I remember that error, just not the fix. We had a FAQ for this sort of thing, but it all went away when Interplay went poof. I really can't remember, but there's probably a global variable of some sort to fix that ailment.

Hum. I suppose I might start another round of BGing too.

Indeed. Loved him in Time After Time.

OT: I always thought he'd make an interesting Doctor.

I suppose you know the effect of skipping that, the fellow who entrepeneurs your theatre will make the decisions, which of course will be worse than if you make them yourself.
However i havent skipped all of it, and dont suppose you can, but for the most of the early askings its about choices in actors and the way they go about the play.

I think I'm going to give BG2 another shot. I have played it a couple times, but I have never been able to defeat Mellisan in the final battle. I guess I just suck or something.

I suppose you know that this thread was started almost two years ago.

And beyond that, I can't install BG2 anymore. Too badly scratched I guess. Or something. It keeps asking for non-existent disc numbers.

Like that's going to stop somebody from resurrecting a thread.... :D

David Warner would have made a good Doctor, infact, I always suggest him as someoe who should have been (or should be) the Doctor.

David Warner as the Doc? Granted, that would be interesting, though he both looks and sounds very sinister - very much unlike the current incarnation.

Figured I'd bump this (since it's been bumped once before).

To pass some free time whilst winter keeps me indoors I thought I'd try to install this again. It was an impulse as I was cleanign out the hall closet and freeing up space by trashing some things and giving others away.

It installed perfectly, unlike my last attempt.

The drag, and I've done this before so I know it should work...

I always like Anomen to fail his test. This time, I told him NOT to seek revenge but, like I've done in the past, after telling him that, went to his dad's rival's house and did the deed anyhow.

Worked in the past but this time, the guards are there but not the family. Did a few reloads, tried going at different times of the day/night and they're just not there.

Apparently, if you even enter the house before the test, you still fail, so hopefully, that's enough.

Ah yes, let him carry out some white-phosphor israeli revenge and still become lawful good, that sounds nice

let me add a token disclaimer btw, and maybe some more smiles that are called twisted for a reason, well, not 180 degrees twisted of course, but twisted nonetheless
