Well... Lily Allen's lost me with "Not Fair", which I found rather disturbing (what a VERY mature approach to sexuality you have there, dear lady), quite a while ago and I stopped following her - no, scratch that, I never followed her or liked her music, she's been very present on the air, much like Katy Perry is, ugh.

Like the last time with Blurred Lines I also wasted 5 minutes of my time on this music video. I think the video was supposed to underline the lyrics by showcasing exactly what she's singing about, it just never came together to form something coherent.

"Always trust the injustice 'cause it's not going away"

Yeah. fudge the system man, they're just trying to keep us down. fudge! Everything sucks arse. Like NOTHING ever improves. EVER! Like... man, everything's pointless.

Yeah go ahead and cut your wrists already, don't let the door hit you on your way out. Sheesh.

*sigh*

edit:

Joseph, please turn off the profanity filter, it's really ruining my point here. :haha:

I've never liked Lily Allen. Always thought she was a complete idiot and always hoped any child that may confusedly look at her as a role model was steered in a better direction by good parenting.

As for the profanity filter... it's on because 50% of Marcus' English vocabulary is the f-word. ;)

I could swear it was off not very long ago. Am I going crazy? =)

I saw it myself recently. As I recall it was because it was used as part of a hyphenated word which I hadn't accounted for in the filter. Really, I did just add the ones Marcus overused.

Who is Kate Perry? :look:

No idea who Lily Allen is either. Did I miss much?

Feminists are about as attractive as male chauvinists, being their mirror image when it comes to personalities. A distorted point of view doesn't get more attractive by being put into song.

The current queen of bubble gum pop. Annoyingly stupid lyrics wrapped in the most cloyingly sweet and simple melodies you can imagine. A bit like Europop used to be, but without the self-deprecation. In other words, horrible.

Lily Allen on the other hand has at least the saving grace of being Alfie Allen's (aka Theon Grejoy) sister, and... ah, to hell with it.

Generally I'd say that countering one extreme by introducing another is a bad thing. I've come across my fair share of feminists who had no intention of stopping at being equal. At best, it's cherry picking equality (I never once heard ANY talk of making military service compulsory for women in Austra, while it is for men) and at its worst simply put flat out sexism, only in the opposite direction - which apparently is okay because males have been doing it for centuries, so it's our turn now, silly male.

I'll take your opinion of feminists under advisement and basically never darken your doors again, then. :P
