I don't have time to show Merl and majestic the error of their ways tonight but I can say this to you, Marcus. The only Star Wars worth watching is the original trilogy. If you can actually find the original trilogy intact.

Star Trek young man! Star Trek. And I mean real Star Trek. Not those silly movies by JJ Abrams or that Discovery swill.

The only decent new Star Wars movie I seen is Rogue One...the rest is trash! And I mean Disney Star Wars which turned Star Wars into a Marvel universe tier shit feast!

Whats real Star Trek?

Star Wars is indeed crap. There are three good Star Wars movies, the original three. But you can't even watch those. You can only watch the daft "digitally enhanced" versions.

Real Star Trek is...

The Original Series
The Next Generation
Deep Space Nine
Voyager
Enterprise
and the first 10 movies (even though the last two were really bad)

The movies JJ Abrams did are not real Star Trek nor is the new series Discovery. They're hack shows, style and mood, and no substance created by people that never understood what made Star Trek successful and made it endure.

From what I seen they do not have the Star Trek feel, no. J J Abrams movies, nor do they have much Star Wars feel his Star Wars hack jobs.

Actually... you can, kind of. A Czech english teacher sat down, taught himself movie editing and painstakingly recreated the original trilogy from the blu ray edition and the laser disc version of the original.

I have DVDs of the original films (but they're really just transfers of the laser disc version). The official ones that were available for a short while what feels like a lifetime and a dead franchise ago.

Dude, look, you can think of superhero movies what you want - many love them, many hate them, I find them decent but don't go out of my way to watch them.

However, nothing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe approaches the level of crap that The Last Jedi was. Nothing.

Star Wars is tainted with the Marvel touch. Maybe it works in Marvel, but the "slapstick" humour or how to put it, do not work in Star Wars. Star Wars always had humour but one can see patterns of trying to replicate Marvle humour.

Hillariously, the only Marvel movies I like is Guardians of the Galaxy wich feels like a modern Han Solo movie, Well now there is a Han Solo movie but that was my thought before Han Solo the movie!

Superhero movies aren't my thing. I'm selective with my sci-fi, and I never got superheros. Just seemed lame to me. Never got into comic books either. When I was growing up everyone was into comics and Batman and Superman and whatever. Me, I was watching the Marx Brothers and Monty Python and Star Trek and reading Kurt Vonnegut and playing guitar. Closest I came to fitting in was playing DnD and reading almost every TSR novel back in the day.

Toss rocks on busses in aprotest that their art teacher was sentenced for sleeping with a 14-15 year old student or storm another neighbouring schools hallways. Beside that? Probably drugs since a famous gangs bosses used to study at this school.

Beside that? computer and console games, running around outside playing football and playing games. But there was always that looming darkness growing over the block in the distance. One of our friends left the gang to do drugs and get jailed cause we the PnP kids was not cool enough.

That's pretty hilarious, yes, at least you can appreciate it yourself, what with Guardians of the Galaxy being the most humerous Marvel outing by far.

You're right about one thing though, The Last Jedi's biggest issue was it being structured like a comedy. Everything that happens in the film is the result of failure that was meant to be hilarious. No one in the film is competent at any level. Except Rey of course, she's hypercompetent to the point of being unbelievable in a film with faster than light starships, aliens and space wizards.

And then there's the issue of versimilitude and common sense. Seriously, if you could blow up the entire Imperial armada. Err, sorry, the entire First Order armada by hyperbombing the lead ship why would you possibly wait - at all - until your forces are decimated?

For that matter, why bother building a Death Star or a Starkiller base, just slap a hyperdrive on an asteroid.

Every Disney Star Wars movie so far did something that made the people in the original trilogy look like idiots. Sometimes even the same character.

Why land Tydirium on Endor to drop off a commando unit when you can just hyperjump behind reflector shields? Why bother attacking the installation on the ground when a transport could just FTL bomb half the planet away? Why not FTL bomb the Death Star for that matter?

Rogue One had that nice little scene where they hyperspaced from the ground out of the matter wave created by the Death Star blast. Boy that Solo guy must be a moron leaving Tatooine first and almost getting run down by a pair of Star Destroyers a short time later.

There's a general rule in sci-fi that if your setting features any form of FTL it either needs to be detectable (like Star Trek's sensors being able to pick up ships at warp speed) or it needs some form of limitation to prevent exactly what happened in The Last Jedi. Up until Disney ignored everything Star Wars had that. Hyperspace jumps had to be calculated properly, were only possible from certain locations and only worked outside of the gravity well of large bodies.

I agree with you on Star Wars. The "Fantasy realism" has truely been broken. There is no more "geeks and nerds" working on Star Wars that keep some what of respect for the setting itself.

Just the idea of slow as hell bombers in space is odd. Or how movie 7 and 8 is so close to each others that it max been a few weeks up to months after a devestating win against the outer rim/hiding somewhere in space New Order, which lost a whole freaking planet of resources and manpower to a bunch of clumsy incompetent fools, a overcompetent Rey and a token Star Wars Wookie in Chewwie.

Nope! While later they have gutted the last Resistance so much they siege their base and Finn comes walking in his leaking bacta tank suit or whatever it was meant to be. As Poe finds him. Same Poe which on his own "wins" time to send in the sink bomb, bombers....what?

Beside that the whole casino planet was wasted, the FTL drive is indeed a big what the hell. Luke being angry and useless. Also dying like that? I rather really see him fight the army on his own. It be more awesome and redicolously cheesy than the other bad script parts. He did say he cannot fight em on his own, now showing how powerful he got 2 movies after 6th! By deflecting an AT-ATs laser right at it, having the head fall off while he holds off the army/challenges Kylo Ren in a real duel. Also, killing of Snoke? Why! There is no villian anymore! I barely count Kylo and Ron Wesley even If I find Ron to be a fiting character, a opportunist but damn he is dumb seeing how Poe played him around with "Your mum" jokes at the start.

Also the so called "Outer Rim" fleet that never came? Would been ONE HELL OF A OPPORTUNITY to show how much allegiance and respect Leia Organa and Lukes names can bring to anyone in the galaxy after the Empires fall. But no, this could been an awesome scene but nothing! But I sat waiting for a big ass rag tag Alien fleet, no Humans, just ALIENS finally joining in on Disney Star Wars for real, seeing Twi'leks, Maybe a damn hutt Cartel, Wookies, Mon Calamari and damnit! Even an ancient and well hidden and still operations Separatist outpost as a big cameo and fan service thing. But nope, no one cares and the Resistance is 10 guys and Rey and a wookie with some droids lead by a dead actress. Leia should have died instead so Luke could be the new "passive lead figure" to the goof troop lead by Rey and Finn doing the stuff.

Also, NO new aliens in the gang is really disappointing.

New Order seems IMPOSSIBLE to deplete to and I guess the whole galaxy just give 0 fucks and has no care at all. Republic seemingly also had their whole navy stationed around the four planets in their capital system, so close it all vaporized. No one in the whole galaxy know of them building a new super weapon that would need so much resources, and these people buy weapons from the same freaking arms dealers, what are these? The most loyal weapon salesmen that never ever has anyone able to by mistake (or by bribes) spill the beans.

Beside that, they have managed to make it feel so confined and closed. Like there is no universe around them because of all these things.

The best Star Wars in the last years been Rogue One, and as you pointed out it also ruins the setting "laws", and in a pnp campaign playing a crazy Twi'lek separatist bounty hunter, assassin and terrorist in the era after Ep 3. They mayorly ruined Star Wars and gutted anything worth while from EU (extended universe), not all is good in it but plenty could been scrapped. Like Darth Krayt and Talon (the later which was SUPPOSED to be the villian) and the Empire remenant being just another state and not evil mustache twirling The SS Strikes Back aka the New Order.

Also, that made me sad, All my IPs are dying or becoming horrible ;(

Well, the film is beginning by being seriously dumb. They fire with a long range artillery style gun that apparently takes ages to reload and they target what? Yeah. The already evacuated base on the ground for no reason at all. Just blow away their command cruiser and win right then and there.

Oh, and you've gotten your Weasleys wrong. That was Bill, not Ron. ;)
