CatBoris has written a review of Half-Life 2. To read it, just go here.

"I saw a comma slay a fiendish burglyronic embryo of drenella 5 once."

Let me be the first to congratulate the author on a fine piece of work :look:
I do bugger-all, but that's OK;
I sleep all night, and I read all day!

Very minor spoilers, really nothing that'll ruin the game for you (imho).

Spoilers? Where?

Anyway, I really like this reveiw, it's a bit over-the-top with personal comments and such, but it makes for a fun and interesting read. Of course, if I want to read a professional, sorry CB :) , I just go to one of the hundreds of sites all telling me the same things, but that's not what I expected from this review and it was not what I got. And for that I am thankful.

I was surprised by the low score, having only played a small part of the beginning, which left me amazed, and read several reviews all praising it, but it seems most fair.

All in all, great job :)

I though it would have been a greater game, but after I finished it, it just left me with a sense of "Oh. Well, that's that then."

Nice interview, but ehh... the number of stars for sound doesn't match the number shown (it shows six stars) 8-)

Otherwise, good reading. I don't mind slight spoilers, I was never into the original Halflife thing anyway (nor Doom for that matter).

Edit: One more thing... you never mentioned Steam. Something that got almost as much press coverage as the game itself. How well did it work for you ? I know that the EULA was what prevented me from buying the game.

Yes it does.
;)

In all seriousness though, that was my fault. I was just scanning the text when I posted it and the last number in that paragraph is six so that's the one I saw.

the menu takes long to load? wtf? its about a billion times faster than half life 1's menu.

and as far as the weapon limited thing, it has more weapons then the first... plus the gravity gun chainsaw should give it at least a plus two as far as awsomeness goes.

although an incrediby detailed and well written article, even if i do disagree with a thousand plus one of the points.
