Welcome to the Spring 2009 issue of the Winterwind Papers.

Spring is a time for change, for growth, and this issue certainly sees some of that.

Just over a year ago, Lina made her first appearance in the ezine. Since that time she's become a regular contributor, both as an artist and writer, and early in the new year, she officially joined the Winterwind team.

In her first issue as a team member, she's already made her mark, contributing a short story and persuading her friend, the gifted photographer Malinka Persson, to grace our pages in an artist's profile.

Mattias continues to be a steady team member as well, this time offering up his thoughts on what our most precious resource is in this installment of his Random Thoughts column.

For my part, I've contributed two more Doctor Who themed pieces, one a review of various online retailers and the second, another in our series of Doctor Who webcomics.

There had been some discussion of keeping the Doctor Who material separate from the regular ezine, perhaps releasing it in special issues, but the team all enjoy it and wanted to see it continuing to appear in regular issues.

In the words of Mattias, our hope is that "the e-zine will move towards being as kick-ass as it can be."

To that end, we've defined a clear set of guidelines and pre-determined deadlines in an effort make that hope a reality.

When possible, we'd like to employ more clearly defined themes per issue and we'd like to reflect that in that issue's editorial.

We'd like to return to doing interviews with artists, and other people of note, and we'd love to see our pool of contributors grow.

We'd also like to hear more from our readers, via email or comments on the forums, regarding current content and what they'd like to see and read in future issues.

Our stated goal is to make the Winterwind Papers the best possible arts, pop culture and social issues ezine we can. We feel this issue is a positive step towards that. We thank you all for your past support and look forward to bringing you more enjoyable issues in the future.

Peace.
