“It is a human characteristic to love little animals, especially if they're attractive in some way.”
Dr. McCoy, Star Trek,
“The Trouble With Tribbles”
We've all heard the saying that money can't buy love but the adorable little angel to the left easily disproves it. He is the sweetest, most innocent, gentle and loving little creature I've ever met. I've always been an animal lover but the depth of honest affection and absolute love I have for him actually surprised me.
He's a Havanese, (the Havanese is the national dog of Cuba) also known as a Havana Silk Dog, which is an offshoot of the Bichon breed. While the breed's exact origins are unclear they were introduced to Cuba by Spanish colonists and were much loved by the nobility as devoted companions. Their disposition makes that easily understandable. They are intelligent, playful and extremely affectionate and their deepest desire is to be with their humans. For this reason, they're sometimes referred to as "velcro dogs" in that they will follow you anywhere, even laying at your feet in the loo, content just to be near you.
