Welcome to Issue Seven of the Winterwind Papers.
It's late. What else is new eh?
But hey, good things are worth waiting for and we were waiting for the interview with NAIL.
Doing anything over the holidays is difficult with time at a premium.
We'd hoped to have it ready before Christmas but the timing just wasn't there. I talked with Rainer a few times (his shop is a block from my place) and it was coming down to doing the issue without the interview or waiting past Christmas. We waited and I think it was well worth it.
As for the interview and NAIL's music... I'm not a metal fan per se but I am a musician and this album is amazing in my opinion. The songs are great, the production level astounding and the musicianship itself is simply excellent.
I strongly suggest you check out the interview then head over to the band's site to listen to the tracks. Well worth your time.
We've also got some incredible art in this issue. Like I said in the last issue, we've been twice blessed. Jax4java in the last issue and this time we profile Swedish artist Lina Broström.
If you recall, she was originally supposed to be in the last issue but... there was that thing (again) with our former webmaster (some people just never change). Well, again, what can I say? Good things are worth waiting for and she's here now.
There's a bit on toys in the Latrine. Actually, it didn't feel like a Latrine article. It's somewhere along the lines of a wibbly wobbly timey wimey thing. (That's a hint by the way.)
What can I say? At 6'2", 220 lbs, I don't see myself as a geek so I must be a Timelord! And I've given you a glimpse at my toys!
Yes, that's right. Toys. It's Christmas... or was. And what's wrong with boys and their toys? Or girls' toys for that matter. (They just usually require bigger batteries...)
An interview, an artist's profile, and some toys. Not bad for one issue. Not bad at all.
Hope you had a happy, safe holiday if holidays are your thing. And we hope you have a fantastic year in 2008!
Cheers! From the gang at Winterwind.
PS We really need a new pic for the Editorial page.
