Doctor Who - Series 2 Alternate Ending

With Series 4 starting this month, I thought I'd have some fun with an alternate ending for Series 2.
There are a few sources of inspiration behind this piece:
Photoshop caption contests on various forums, spoiler rumours posted in the online community, the fangirls with "Mrs David Tennant" in their profiles and lastly, (and I include myself in this group) the fans who are tired of romance in Doctor Who and wish Rose wasn't coming back.
It's to the latter that this is dedicated.
Author's Note:
My girlfriend said this webcomic confirms I'm a geek. I countered that I'm a writer, that a piece on dolphins wouldn't make me a marine biologist. She countered my counter, pointing out I don't have a growing collection of dolphins on my shelf.
