Welcome to Issue 9

Number nine... number nine... number nine... number nine...

That's a Beatles reference by the way.

This is a special issue actually. Well, they all are in a way. Every time we get one finished I'm bloody amazed. But no, this one is special. It marks the two years anniversary issue of the Winterwind Papers.

I'd like to say that we've got some really kick-ass-uber-kewl interviews with famous people or some other big ticket draw to make you salivate... but we don't. Not this time any way.

Although some of us are... infamous... in certain circles.

Will that do?

What we have for you, and we are absolutely tickled pink to bring this to you, is as follows:

A car crash.

Some college courses critiqued.

Some pictures. Photographs actually.

And Fish. With a capital "F".

That's right. That is variety, unlike any you'll find anywhere else on the internet. Well, actually... you probably could find that, and more, elsewhere. But why would you? Why should you? Step right this way for the magical mystery... Oh, sorry. That was another Beatles reference.

We had fun putting this together though. We really did. We always do despite the grousing and griping. We're just each, individually, last minute artists, Magnus, Mattias and myself. And that's fine. I've always been a last minute writer. I understand that mentality.

I just bloody hate it when I'm the one that's trying to organise this and kept it on some semblance of a schedule!

You see, with the last minute approach, two things happen:

I sit here wondering if people are going to get things in on time, cursing and questioning their family lineage each time I obsessively check my email days before the deadline.

The other thing, when days like today happen, with Mattias writing his entirely on the "day of" and me writing half of mine is that we only do a cursory edit, just a quickie for typos.

But, we've talked about changing that, of getting everything done two weeks in advance so we can put more polish into the articles and the zine.

We've said that before. We're saying it again. You never know, you know?

One thing I am really really excited about though... in the next issue we'll have a new editorial page image.

Honest. No kidding. We really are. Because this one isn't even funny in a "re-used stock footage for a low budget sci-fi flick" way.

Peace.
