Ed’s Song (the Bigger Man)

Don’t worry about all the things she’s done to you,
you’re a bigger man than that.
Don’t worry about all the things she’s done behind your back,
just take off your hat and take a bow.

Don’t think about all the times she’s lied to you
about how many have had her on her back.
Don’t think about the empty void at 3 AM,
she may be your wife but you’re the man.

All you’re thinking about
is what would Jesus do in this situation?
All she’s thinking about is how she’s gonna do him
so what’s the difference?

Don’t worry about all the things she’s done to you,
now she’s got you on your back.
Don’t think about all the dreams that left when she first smiled,
you know they’re never coming back this way again.

All you’re thinking about
is what would Jesus do in this situation?
All she’s thinking about is how she’s gonna do him
so what’s the difference?

Don’t worry about all her little back door boys,
the money keeps her coming home.
Don’t think about who she might have done today,
when you see the top of her head you feel ok,
at least you’re not alone.

A song for the husband of woman in the affair. Would you believe he and I talked about the situation several times? The lyrics were co-written with my friend who'd called Roses my "gothic horror love song". He wrote the 2nd verse, chorus and first two lines of the 3rd verse. I wrote the rest. He laughed and called my last two lines of the 3rd verse the most vicious he'd heard in a song.
