Song of Spring Dawning

Living so long
behind the shadow of a dream,
I was hiding from the sun.
All alone,
no-one hears you
when you're crying in the night.

The freshness of air,
cradling dreams,
the dreams that I dream of you.
You'll always be with me,
holding me close
should I cry again.

I've seen the world
in bitter black and white.
I've seen the world
in it's bleak greyness.
I've seen the world
in all it's radiant colours
but that's nothing without you.

If life is
nothing more
than a stream of moments
leading to the end
then I pray that I may spend
all my time with you.

Heart's dearest,
you know that I love you
and I think I always have.
I love you more than life itself,
I'll be with you ‘til the end.

Crying so long
and crying so hard,
I think it's time I learned to smile,
to turn my back upon Winter's Night
and embrace the Spring's Dawn.

bright acoustic, Key of F
Vox, acoustic (capoed), 12 str electric, bass, piano, drums

Song of Winter Night was so titled because of when it was composed. After that, having read the Dragonlance Chronicles, I decided to write three songs, named for the three books. The lyrics are, to me now, rather sappy. Musically, it was a bright, catchy acoustic piece capoed on the third fret. Capoes are a lot of fun. My friend actually asked to use the song for his band. I said no. I was being overly protective.
