3AM Blues
Yeah, I've put my life on hold before,
waited for someone who never came,
swore it'd be the first time and the last
now here I am waiting once again.
It took me all my life to find you,
had you for a moment now you're gone,
don't know if it's me or the stars and planets,
just know that somewhere, something's wrong.
Well why'd you have to go?
I offered you my heart and soul.
How can a woman as hot as you
be so fucking cold?
I've never been much for drinking,
got drunk last night again,
started to curse you 'cos I miss you,
broke down in tears at 3AM.
Well why'd you have to go?
when I offered you my heart and soul.
How can a woman as hot as you
be so fucking cold?

drunken, bitter blues, Key of E
Vox, acoustic, electric, bass, piano, drums
This song "makes the cut" here because it's the first real blues piece I ever wrote. The lyrics were fun, part truthful however the lady in question was average, not hot but "how can a woman as average as you as you be so cold..." just doesn't have the same impact. Musically, I really like playing it, my favourite part being the bass line I wrote, a fun arching blues riff.
