Suspended Disbelief

Never Enough (Time)
Tell me why I get lost in your eyes,
seeing pure white clouds
drift across a deep blue sky.
A perfect summer day,
cool green grass
under a sun shining high.
Funny how I see my whole life
every time I see you smile.
You say you need to find yourself,
I know you need some time
it's just the one thing that I've learned
is that there's never enough
time
I've been a dreamer and a fool for so long
I don't know what else to be.
If only you could read my mind,
see what I see.
I wish that I could listen to my head
instead of follow my heart.
I wish that I could just turn and walk away
but I think I've loved you from the start.
I know you need to find yourself,
you say you need some time
but if there's one thing that I've learned
it's that there's never enough
time

melancholy ballad, Key of F
Vox, acoustic (capoed), piano, cello, percussion
This song essentially wrote itself. It came to me during a spring time drive in the country. It's built around a belief I have, originating with the deaths of people I was close to, that we never really have enough time to say and do all the things we should.
