Is December, 2012 the end?

Yes
No
Bah! Bloody fringies!

Suspended Disbelief

Lyrical selections from the Church Benches and Rain

Brave Enough

If I were brave enough to call you
would you just hang up
or would we somehow find something to say?
If I told you I know you think of me too
would it draw you out
or drive you further away?

What happened to the confidence I had when we met,
where did my self-assurance go?
Why is something so simple so complex
and why do you scare me so?

Did you see the sunrise this morning?
Brilliant pink and red and orange,
the sky shading to the deepest indigo.
I finally found the strength
to crawl from the floor to my bed,
I was thinking maybe you'd care
so I wanted you to know.

It seems everyone's dreams come true but mine,
I feel like a blind man, lost and groping.
Would you call me a fool because I believe,
because my heart just can't help hoping?

I'm not asking for much, just a little trust
instead of waking up to the same old lies.
You see, life's just too short and it's you I see
every time I close my eyes.

Straight up four-on-the-floor rock, Key of C
Vox, acoustic, electric, bass, piano, drums

This song started simply enough. I was walking to work one morning, taking a short-cut across the tracks and stopped, transfixed by the sunrise. Musically, I've been alternating between a slow version and an up tempo version. I settled on the latter, complete with that chugging Chuck Berry style riff.
