Re: Happy Birthday Satan's Onion

So my birthday wasn't too bad--went out to dinner, went and got a new album (by George Harrison's son, Dhani's group thenewno2). I also have champagne and ice cream cake waiting for me (which I didn't get to because the dinner I had was huge). I also have gift cards to spend. Things're going well, I...

Re: MS Office vs Open Office

As far as I can tell, OpenOffice and MS Office are similar enough in layout and such that you shouldn't have any major trouble figuring out how to use the former if you've used the latter.

Re: MS Office vs Open Office

It's a quote from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. (And it's probably a lot funnier in context, when it's being said by "Jiggle Billy", a dancing hillbilly doll with a night-vision goggle accessory.)

Re: MS Office vs Open Office

I downloaded OpenOffice after my trial copy of MS Word expired. (Didn't even know it was a trial until it up and decided to stop functioning. I liken it to buying a house, only to be told a few months later that your use of the bathroom was "only a free trial" and the builders are going to brick up ...

Re: Random events of the day

I'm not normally interested in sports, but on occasions like the Olympics I find they're watchable if there's nothing else too compelling on the television. I find some of the more obscure sports, like curling and luge, particularly interesting.

Re: Runey Runey Runey!!!

Amputating nostrils seems a bit needlessly tricky. Why not just get some cement or something and fill 'em in?

Re: Random events of the day

Well, I dunno about other people, but I found the whole program not particularly intuitive or user-friendly--you have to mess with it a lot to get it to do what you want, and I still can't get it to stop listing all my music in one long-ass list of files, or long-ass list of "albums", or pretty but ...

Re: Random events of the day

Got a lovely purple iPod Nano for Christmas. In related news, iTunes is utter, utter crap. I realize I've arrived at this conclusion several years after the rest of the human race, but nevertheless, for the two or three left who don't know: iTunes sucks a dead llama's sex organs. But the iPod itself...

I'm pretty sure they do load faster, now you mention it. I noticed it 'cos I'm on a terrible 56k connection. Great work!

Stop me if this anecdote gets too exciting for you.

I got two new pairs of pants yesterday! I really needed them, considering I had two pairs left and one sustained a rip near the knee from a fall I had a few days before that. They're quite nice and if I'm lucky I'll be able to get more like 'em.

Yep. My life is just terribly exciting.

Wooo one hundred posts! ...Wait.

Incidentally, another awesome thing? Hard apple cider. It's tasty and it goes down smooth and I've found that one bottle is just perfect to get me--not quite drunk, really, but certainly in a good mood. Wonderful stuff.

I dunno. The more I think about it, I expect an artichoke heart might taste pretty good with your average pizza sauce and some cheese. Maybe some black olives too.

...Come to think, artichoke pizza's another thing I ought to try...
