must read threads

Post by Ewen Brown » Tue Jan 10, 2006 9:14 pm

just been going through the Happy Birthday Kaltia thread and realised two things: one, it's totally hilarious and two, we didn't have a happy birthday kaltia thread last year

i figured people can add their own idea of what threads are worth reading as well shortly after, so whatever, so was created this thread....
stupidity causes violence

that post your ugly mugthread, and Ewen's relationships counselor thread.

and some old stuff from the Tech forum:
Poo(h) and the Art of Spaceship Maintenance, on page 7 right now.
and simply interesting to read (and wonderful that it dragged on that long):
the Science&Ethics thread on page 5

and one of the threads that got me hooked here:
Is infinity equal to zero? (somehow this ended up in Open Discussion, along with some other Tech threads, it's on page 26 right now)

Another good pasttime is reading the first 20 posts of regular ww members around, just list them all from the memberlist and click on the last pages, see how they introduced themselves and started ranting.

and i must add, just discovered:
The Pointless Hello thread, page 4 (halfway) of Greetings&birthdays
"anyway, smoke orcs if so take eyes if right points left xy."

Ah, those threads only depress me. Reminds me of the days when the spam forum was alive and well, not in it's current undead state.

The best thread there ever was, AFAIR, was the Fallout Haiku thread we had over at the Interplay board. A larger mound of nonsense (including the entire FO forum) I have never seen since. It was also funny how nearly every thread featured someone trying to start a quote pyramid.
I do bugger-all, but that's OK;

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE quote pyramids. Even when I was at IPLY and I was supposed to warn people for it. In fact, IIRC, Skynet was warned by someone for it once but I think it was before he became a mod.

OK, I did it. I re-read the Happy Birthday Kaltia thread from start to finish. My flatmate thought I was having some kind of seizure. OMFG did I laugh. I miss those days. Badly. What a zany bunch of carefree crazy kids we all were. Why have so many of our children left the nest? DAMMIT EWEN... what did you do to everyone.

I think I miss Runey and Panda the most. There strange panda love thing was... well, something to behold, that's for sure.

I just found another "Must Read Thread".

Our little cyber babe, Sweet16!!!

For those who don't remember, it was a joke alt account of mine when apox and I decided to start having fun with alt accounts. What I found rather disturbing was the number of PMs I got in the alt account from some rather desparate and lonely guys here that wanted cybersex. Eeeeeeeeeeewww. Names withheld to protect the idiotic.

I read the Happy Birthday Kaltia thread, wasn't as funny as I thought it was. But Sweet16 was hilarious. And the added facts of the PMs you got Josan only makes me want to crack up even more
