So... anyone replayed any BIS games lately?

It's been almost three months since the last post in this memorial forum. As the thread title asks: Anyone replayed, or been tempted to replay, any BIS games lately?

not yet no, but i recently talked with some fellow at the tabletennis who played it back in the days, since then i've been thinking about picking up my 12th hardcore incarnation, i've also been pondering about bringing my hardcore trials to icewind dale.
I do have a bit of free computer time after finishing Silent Storm Sentinels, and the games i'm waiting for are still not here, so as soon as i have some more free time on my hands i might give it a try, because the laid back late night thinking niche is free again, might also play the S^2 allied campaign which ive never done however.

[edit]which makes me think i still have to update the screenies thread up to that 12th, not now however, we're trying a second one of those 25 people dnd weekend, since the first turned out really fun. [/]

I am in the middle of a game of Planescape: Torment. Just got Nordom from the artificial dungeon and I trying to figure out how the heck I managed in the past to get Dakkon to talk about Xacharias (sp?). It had something to do with catching him lying when translating what Fell says about tattoos :?

Not since my thread on the Fallout Restoration game. And I intend and try to forget about them too so that I may someday play them anew..

tempted, yes. Going to, hell yes. I'm hooked on Neverwinter Nights (the first) right now, so why not give in to the old BIS urge too. I've finally come to like the 3rd Edition (or is it 4th already?) rules and I'm gonna give IWD2 another try. I think that game has been unjustly neglected.

I think I started IWD2 about eight months ago, but I stopped about halfway through.

IWD is about 2 years since I last played it

BG2 I played about a year ago. But Ive spent probably a thousand hours of my life playing that game, with mods and without, over and over and over. I beat the game with pretty much every kit or class. Not all multiclasses, though, or dual classes, or specialist mages.

Torment... 3 years, 4 years, maybe?

I got a new computer, and I was briefly tempted to install BG2, but the problem is that my Disk 2 exploded a few years back, ToB disk partially exploded (and is missing a piece out of it) and disk 4 cracked. So installing it anew would be a hassle, as i would have to acquire .iso's or buy the game again,

Seems that www.interplay.com is back and has forums again... heh.

I've seen the Baldurs Gate "4 in 1 boxset" (2 DVD's + 2 CD's) a couple of times and I think it's still in print and it's pretty cheap, so.. (But I already got one).

I looked around through my stuff, and it turns out that, over the years, I made 3 copies of disk 2 (the one that exploded), and one copy of each of the other disks. I think I made at least two copies of ToB, but I can't find them. I know I made a copy of each of the disks for a friend (for some reason they are at my house). Regardless, I've got the BG2 bug again. I think maybe Ill try Baldur's Gate Trilogy again.

I've got a BG1 game going, where I'm playing *gasp* a cleric of Helm (using tutu, BTW) without Khalid/Jaheira, which is a definite first for me. Current party is

* Sir Dancealot (Cleric, melee swine)
* Ajantis (Paladin, melee swine)
* Minsc (Ranger, melee swine)
* Kivan (Ranger, archer demi-god)
* Imoen (Thief, baggage)
* Dynaheir (Mage, decent artillery when I remember her, baggage)

It's a bit easy, since I kinda have all encounters and enemy powers memorised, but it's still pretty fun when the right spell memorisations break the game :)

I played through BG1 recently with an evil Dwarf fighter, wondering about how easy the game was. What a letdown. Now playing through BG2 with an Elven archer, taking Keldorn, Annoyman and Nalia (to be replaced by Imoen) with me.

Just because I'm bored and also because we've had a lot of snow over the last two to three days, I'm running through IWD2. Started last night. What fun.

Can't wait for my all time least favourite parts to the BIS games - the Fellwood waste and that annoying monk obstacle course. Thankfully, I turned off the battle squares.

If only you could turn off the game entirely...

Fellwood isn't so bad with a decent tracking skill. The monk challenge however... and I always hated monks in the IE games :?

No, it's not. It's just that puzzles are fun the first time. On replays, not so much.
