Ze Highwayman

Reading an old review of Sam and Max Hit the Road, I saw that they called the car a "1960 DeSoto Adventurer". Now, for some odd reason, I began thinking about the Highwayman in Fallout 2. My curiosity sparked, I google-searched for an image of this DeSoto Adventurer, and this was what I found:

Now, is it just me, or do the Highwayman and the Adventurer bear an uncanny resemblance to each other?

::edit::

compare it to this:

I do bugger-all, but that's OK;

It's probably the Adventurer DeSoto-wannabee UK-Gold version.. notice the side-view mirror, that is on the right side, which is the opposite of the original.
