Sentimental Albums

Post by AngryKidJoe » Mon Jan 25, 2010 12:52 am

Believe it or not, when I was really young I listened to a lot of Rap. I slowly merged into Punk Rock and then into Metal. I have a few albums that I used to listen to non-stop when I was in high school. I came across one of them today and recalled a plethora of memories and I started listening to all of them. For the most part, during the winter one year all I did was sit in my basement playing Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark on my Nintendo 64 listening to these and killing my friends in said games.

Fear Factory - Obselete (1998)

Stand Outs: Shock, Edgecrusher

Deftones - Around the Fur (1997)

Stand Outs: My Own Summer, Be Quiet And Drive, Head Up

Korn - Follow the Leader (1998)

No real stand outs. Was popular when I was 16 and I didn't know any better.

Chimaira - Pass Out of Existence (2001)

The entire album was a stand out. I had an obsession with this band for a while.

All repeat after me: "Rap is not music..."

I remember my first two vinyl albums as well as my first two cd's. It was mostly a result of what was "fashionable" in the eighties.

The Beastie Boys momentarily and a few danish artists were the only ones ever to get it right.. Like the "Verdens Længste Rap" (Worlds Longest Rap), but the rest of the international scene is not even b, but c-rap. But I find other languages more humours than that dreadfully boring american shit.

Vinyl albums.. Great for show and decor. Yummy posters with bedtime themes..
