I note with amusement, Joseph, that you have one of the Asst Editor's childhood heroes in lowly seventh place, and Mrs Asst Editor's favourite in bottom spot!

Re: Doctor Who both Nu and Classic
I just can't stand Davison. There's just something about him that doesn't work for me. And as far as McCoy, well, I do like him, I just didn't like quite a lot of the serials during his era. And really, like I said, aside from the top three and the very bottom, the rest all shift around enough that I could rank them all equally at that would be about as accurate as ordering them. In fact though, I should probably switch Smith and McCoy because if McCoy's rank suffered due to the stories in his era...
I wish Smith were staying and Moffat leaving. I'd really like to have seen what Smith could have done with a better show runner.

Re: Doctor Who both Nu and Classic
Here's my list
1. Paul McGann: The TV movie is a guilty pleasure of mine.
Plus I enjoy his audios. I find him very underrated
2. Jon Pertwee: He's what got me into Doctor Who so I owe him this much plus I liked how he was kind of like a Doc Savage
3. Patrick Troughton: Fun, just sheer fun yet dangerous.
4. Tom Baker: Most flexible of the Doctors able to do Gothic Horror to Hard Sci-Fi
5. Christopher Eccleston: Originally he was my least favorite but after re-watching it he's fantastic but the fact he was with Rose and well alien fart jokes still holds him back when it comes to quality stories.
6. William Hartnell: I love Original Old and Cranky but the show was still trying to find its footing and it shows (and I mean closer to the overall scheme of The Doctor not production values)
7. Colin Baker: I liked Peri and I find Colin tolerable but he's still an ass.
8. Sylvester McCoy: I call him boring "Scotsman with a Sweatervest". I love Ace though.
9. Matt Smith: He's a dweeb that gets outcooled by his companions. Which I heard is a charm to some but not to me.
10. Peter Davison: No disrespect to him but boring stories and basically I just remember him as "that guy with the celery lapel" That doesn't win me over.
11. David Tennant: No offense to him as an actor but I found his Doctor to be way too human. Plus too much of a pretty boy and to me paved the road for Matt Smith
Like Joseph I have a tendency to flip-flip on my middle ones but the top three and bottom three are consistent. I can switch Hartnell and Eccleston if we're talking about story quality and not just the actor.
Top Five Serials:
1. Spearhead From Space
2. The Ark In Space
3. The Aztecs
4. Inferno
5. Caves of the Androzoni (Peter Davison dies
)

Re: Doctor Who both Nu and Classic
What Fluffster? Haven't seen the 50th Anniversary special yet?
Watched. Enjoyed it but... Well, it's Moffat.
And I'd really rather they have not used Hurt. I liked him in the role but I'd have rather have had McGann for the whole special as the War Doctor instead of just the 6 minute mini episode where McGann regenerates into the Hurt non-Doctor Doctor.

Re: Doctor Who both Nu and Classic
I have just trying to process my full on feelings for it. Like you said, it's Moffat but that doesn't mean it's bad. And as a McGann fan, I agree with you not a big fan of the retcon in general but I am looking forward to Capaldi taking over Matt Smith.
Also I have one big question was Rose the actual Rose or something else? I kept thinking she was some other entity going around and such but it was obviously Billie Piper.

Re: Doctor Who both Nu and Classic
She wasn't Rose in the special, just the image of Rose. She was Bad Wolf, helping the Doctor.
And you did see McGann's mini-episode prequel for the special, right?
If not, google "Night of the Doctor".

Yes I have seen Night of the Doctor, decent minisode. And thanks a lot about the Rose question, that really helps

Even though I'm not a fan of cats that is quite cute.

How can anyone not be a fan of cats?

Re: Doctor Who both Nu and Classic
Dogs are smelly, loud, constantly need to be walked to do their business and they sniff each other's asses for a second or two an become best friends forever... not very endearing, really. Heh.Marcus wrote:I prefer mans best friend myself! The dog!
