The Future of Winterwind Part XXIV

Post by Joseph » Wed Mar 20, 2019 7:27 pm

Winterwind has been here for just over 15 years as of this posting. It's had some highs and lows and a five year hiatus, and about six or seven different looks and layouts for the website.

But now I intend to get it to where I'd always wanted it to be by doing a variety of music, writing and video work, with the videos covering a diverse range of material: comedy bits, reviews, addressing serious social issues, etc.

Naturally different social media platforms will be part of re-launching the site and promoting it in the future. As such, I'll link those here with a brief snippet of info and ask you folks to alternately like, follow and subscribe. A five year absence means you lose a lot of followers and Winterwind lost most of its Facebook and Twitter followers over that gap.

Winterwind's Facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/WinterwindProductions
I don't expect I'll be doing too many updates on Facebook beyond the basics. I'm not a fan of the platform but it is still a useful tool. And I may do more if it catches on.

Winterwind's Twitter account is here: https://twitter.com/WinterwindProds
This is where I'll be most active for Winterwind on social media so please do follow there.

Winterwind's YouTube channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrJy3c ... a08IcIHNvw
I haven't uploaded any videos yet. We haven't done any yet but the intent is for this to be Winterwind's main content platform. As soon as it hits 100 subscribers, IIRC, we're eligible for a custom URL, and we'll definitely be going for that so please do subscribe.

Thanks.

Well, the last of the items I ordered came in yesterday (a simple external mic for my mobile) and we painted the living room/music room/studio on the weekend so now it's time to start working on some video content.

It'll start small, almost primitive. Turns out my DSLR camera doesn't have an external mic input so I'll be shooting most things with my mobile until I can start upgrading gear.

The first thing I need to do I guess is a basic "About" video. Stay tuned...

I made a few minor tweaks to the website that I think make it look a lot better.

https://www.winterwind-productions.com/

Gone is the dark grey with the dark blue-grey background. It's blue and white and much brighter now. I'll be ditching the Google search bar too. It looks clunky and I don't think it's ever actually been used by visitors. Ads are sufficient and removing the search bar will give the site a cleaner look I think.

Also, I'm going 99% likely to be switching webhosts. My patience with our current host is fast coming to an end.
